• Please join us tomorrow, Tuesday, August 8th, from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Piazza
Park in downtown Renton for the Renton Farmers Market. The market will be filled with
fresh flowers and a bounty of farm fresh produce every Tuesday from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00
p.m. through September 26th. In addition to market fare, shoppers will enjoy live music,
food trucks, tips from Master Gardeners, cooking demonstrations, and children's activities.
And we are proud to continue our Fresh Bucks incentive program, which offers a dollar-for-
dollar match to be used on fresh produce for our SNAP shoppers. For more information,

• Gather with friends and family for Ivar's Family Fun and Films. Finding Dory will be featured
on Friday, August 11th at Henry Moses Aquatic Center. Tickets can be purchased for$5.00
starting at 7:00 p.m. Entry will begin at 8:00 p.m. and the movie will start at dusk.
• The city is in the process of updating its Bicycle and Trails Master Plan and is interested in
public input. Please join us for an open house on Thursday, September 28th from 5:00 to
8:00 p.m. at the Renton Community Center, 1715 SE Maple Valley Highway in Renton.

• The famous Renton Loop returns for one day only on August 19th! The "Cruz the Loop"
event will run from 12:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Renton High School, with cruising from 4:00 to
5:00 p.m. It will be an afternoon of music, food, and family fun, capped by cars cruising the
loop. Registration is now open, so get your spot early. VIP registration costs $40 and
includes VIP parking (close to entertainment stage and a larger spot), first out when it's time
to cruise, Cruz the Loop t-shirt, commemorative poster, window cling, and key chain.
General registration is$20 and includes special parking, Cruz the Loop t-shirt, and a window

general.
• The conversion of Main Avenue South from a one-way street to a two-way street between
South 2nd Street and South 3rd Street is almost complete. Re-opening of the street with
two-way traffic flow is anticipated for mid-August. The improvements will be operated by a
new traffic signal and will improve business and residential access without having to circle

the block. More information on exact date of the conversion will be forthcoming

✓ Monday, August 7th through Friday, August 11th, 10:00 p.m.to 4:30 a.m. Talbot Road
South between the northbound I-405 on-ramp and the southbound I-405 off-ramp will
be fully closed each night for the I-405 Direct Connector Project. Questions may be

✓ Monday, August 7th through Friday, August 11th, 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Northbound
Talbot Road South between the northbound I-405 on-ramp and the southbound I-405
off-ramp will be closed for the I-405 Direct Connector Project. Questions may be

✓ Monday, August 7th through Friday, August 11th, 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Northbound
lane closure on Union Avenue NE near NE 27th Place due to utility construction.

✓ Monday, August 7th through Friday, August 11th, 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Single lane
closure of eastbound and westbound SE 180th Street between the northbound SR 167
on-ramp to East Valley Road due to roadway construction. Questions may be directed

✓ Monday, August 7th through Friday, August 11th. Northbound and southbound
nighttime lane restrictions and closures along SR 167 and I-405 are scheduled this week
related to the I-405/SR 167 Interchange Direct Connector Project. More detailed
information about these restrictions and closures is available tonight on the back table.

✓ Monday,August 7th through Friday, August 11th, 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Intermittent
lane closures with localized overnight lane diversion at the 4800 Block of NE 4th Street
due to removal and restoration of concrete panels. Questions can be directed to Todd

✓ Monday, August 7th through Sunday, August 13th. Road closure on South 14th Street
between Smithers Avenue South and Davis Avenue South for utility construction.

✓ Tuesday,August 8th through Thursday, August 10th, 8:30 a.m.to 4:30 p.m.
Intermittent lane closures for asphalt repairs will take place along Rainier Avenue South
between Hayes Place SW and South 2nd Street. Lane closures are scheduled as follows:
Tuesday, August 8th: Southbound curb lane.
Wednesday, August 9th: Southbound center lane.
Thursday, August 10th: Southbound inside lane.

✓ Monday, August 7th through approximately Friday,August 18th. South 2nd Street,
east of and adjacent to the intersection of Main Avenue South and South 2nd Street,
will be closed for a period not to exceed two months. A map showing alternative routes
through this area is available tonight on the back table. Questions may be directed to

✓ Monday, August 7th through approximately August 31st. Expect some intermittent
lane closures in the Highlands as a result of the Highlands Sewer Main and Manhole
Rehabilitation Project, between NE Sunset Blvd and NE 4th Street, from approximately I-
405 to Monroe Avenue NE. Questions may be directed to John Hobson at 425-430-

✓ Monday, August 7th through Friday, September 29th. Full road closure on Harrington
between Sunset Lane NE and Harrington Avenue NE as well as a full road closure on
Harrington Avenue NE between NE 10th Street and Sunset Lane NE will be in place as
part of the Sunset Lane Capital Improvement Project. Questions can be directed to

✓ Monday, August 7th through approximately Friday, October 6th. WSDOT will be
repaving and installing sidewalk upgrades along a portion of Maple Valley Highway (SR
169) between 140th Avenue SE (MP 22.86) and Blaine Drive Vic (MP 24.84).
Construction will occur during daytime and nighttime hours and will result in a reduction
of lanes as outlined below: �
Daytime closures(up to one lane at a time in either the westbound or eastbound
direction, not concurrently):
• Northbound —Lane closure permitted between 8:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday
through Friday.
• Southbound —Lane closure permitted between 7:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., Monday
through Friday.
Nighttime closures (up to 2 lanes will be permitted in either the westbound and/or
eastbound direction:

• Northbound —Lane closures permitted between 8:00 p.m. and 10:00 a.m., Sunday
through Friday.
• Northbound —Lane closures permitted between 8:00 p.m. Friday and 10:00 a.m.
Sunday.
• Southbound —Lane closures permitted between 10:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m., Sunday
through Friday.
• Southbound —Lane closures permitted between 9:30 p.m. Friday to 10:00 a.m.
Sunday.

✓ Monday,August 7th through August 2018, 8:30 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. Additional
construction traffic due to the construction of Sartori Elementary School at the 300
block of Park Avenue North and Garden Avenue North. Questions may be directed to

✓ Thursday, August 10th through Saturday, August 12th. WSDOT maintenance crews will
be working along with City maintenance crews on SR-169 (Maple Valley Highway) at
night. Questions may be directed to Justin Johnson at 425-430-7291.
✓ Monday, August 7th through approximately Friday,August 18th. The intersection of
NE 10th Street and Harrington Avenue NE will be closed to accommodate construction
of the Sunset Neighborhood Park and surrounding area. Questions may be directed to

✓ Tuesday, August 8th through approximately Friday, September 1st. The City of Kent
will be conducting a pavement rehabilitation project along 80th Avenue South between
South 194th Street and South 190th Street. This project is near the City of Renton
border. Lane reductions and/or closures may impact Renton residents. A map of the
affected area is available tonight on the back table. Questions may be directed to City

✓ Tuesday, August 15th, 7:00 p.m.to 5:00 a.m. Possible lane closures on Rainier Avenue
