The market will be filled with fresh flowers and a bounty of farm fresh produce every Tuesday from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. through September 26th. In addition to market fare, shoppers will enjoy live music, food trucks, tips from Master Gardeners, cooking demonstrations, and children's activities. And we are proud to continue our Fresh Bucks incentive program, which offers a dollar-for- dollar match to be used on fresh produce for our SNAP shoppers. Please join us for an open house on Thursday, September 28th from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Renton Community Center, 1715 SE Maple Valley Highway in Renton. The "Cruz the Loop" event will run from 12:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Renton High School, with cruising from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. It will be an afternoon of music, food, and family fun, capped by cars cruising the loop. Registration is now open, so get your spot early. VIP registration costs $40 and includes VIP parking (close to entertainment stage and a larger spot), first out when it's time to cruise, Cruz the Loop t-shirt, commemorative poster, window cling, and key chain. General registration is$20 and includes special parking, Cruz the Loop t-shirt, and a window cling. To register, visit rentonwa.gov/cybersignup. Use code 60092 for VIP, and 60093 for generaL • The conversion of Main Avenue South from a one-way street to a two-way street between South 2nd Street and South 3rd Street is almost complete. Re-opening of the street with two-way traffic flow is anticipated for mid-August. The improvements will be operated by a new traffic signal and will improve business and residential access without having to circle the block. Armondo Pavone,Council President Members of Renton City Council Page 2 August 14,2017 Preventative street maintenance, traffic impact projects, and road closures will be at the following locations: ✓ Monday, August 14th through Friday, August 18th, 9:00 a.m.to 3:00 p.m. Northbound Talbot Road South between the northbound I-405 on-ramp and the southbound I-405 off-ramp will be closed for the I-405 Direct Connector Project. Questions may be directed to Rohini Nair at 206-999-1822. ✓ Monday,August 14th through Friday,August 18th, 8:30 a.m.to 3:30 p.m. Northbound lane closure on Union Avenue NE near NE 27th Place due to utility construction. Questions may be directed to Brad Stocco at 425-282-2373. ✓ Monday, August 14th through Friday, August 18th, 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Single lane closure of eastbound and westbound SE 180th Street between the northbound SR 167 on-ramp to East Valley Road due to roadway construction. Northbound and southbound nighttime lane restrictions and closures along SR 167 and I-405 are scheduled this week related to the I-405/SR 167 Interchange Direct Connector Project. More detailed information about these restrictions and closures is available tonight on the back table. The information outlines specific dates and times of the closure. South 2nd Street, east of and adjacent to the intersection of Main Avenue South and South 2nd Street, will be closed for a period not to exceed two months. A map showing alternative routes through this area is available tonight on the back table. The intersection of NE 10th Street and Harrington Avenue NE will be closed to accommodate construction of the Sunset Neighborhood Park and surrounding area. WSDOT maintenance crews will be working along with City maintenance crews on SR-169 (Maple Valley Highway) at night. Questions may be directed to Justin Johnson at 425-430-7291. ✓ Saturday, August 19th, 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Possible lane closures on Rainier Avenue at South 2nd Street for utility construction. Road closure on South 14th Street between Smithers Avenue South and Davis Avenue South for utility construction. Questions may be directed to Patrick DeCaro at 425-207-6013. ✓ Monday, August 14th through approximately August 31st. Expect some intermittent lane closures in the Highlands as a result of the Highlands Sewer Main and Manhote Rehabilitation Project, between NE Sunset Blvd and NE 4th Street, from approximately I- 405 to Monroe Avenue NE. Questions may be directed to John Hobson at 425-430- 7279. ✓ Monday, August 14th through approximately Friday, September 1st. The City of Kent will be conducting a pavement rehabilitation project along 80th Avenue South between South 194th Street and South 190th Street. This project is near the City of Renton border. Lane reductions and/or closures may impact Renton residents. A map of the affected area is available tonight on the back table. Complete road closure of Harrington Avenue NE, Sunset Lane NE, and Glennwood Avenue NE for approximately one year to accommodate the Sunset Lane NE Roadway Improvements Project. Detours are in place. Questions may be directed to Keith Woolley at 425-430-7318. ✓ Monday, August 14th through approximately Friday, October 6th. WSDOT will be repaving and installing sidewalk upgrades along a portion of Maple Valley Highway (SR 169) between 140th Avenue SE (MP 22.86) and Blaine Drive Vic (MP 24.84). Construction will occur during daytime and nighttime hours and will result in a reduction of lanes as outlined below: Daytime closures(up to one lane at a time in either the northbound or southbound direction, not concurrently): • Northbound —Lane closure permitted between 8:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. • Southbound —Lane closure permitted between 7:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Nighttime closures (up to two lanes will be permitted in either the northbound and/or southbound direction): • Northbound —lane closures permitted between 8:00 p.m. and 10:00 a.m., Sunday through Friday. • Northbound—Lane closures permitted between 8:00 p.m. Friday and 10:00 a.m. Sunday. • Southbound —Lane closures permitted between 10:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m., Sunday through Friday.
