The Contractor is directed to construct two cut landscape block walls behind the new fire hydrants with 12"deep compact blocks. One is located at approximately Sta.35+85 LT on Renton Ave S and the other is at approximately Sta. 101+90 LT on S 130th Street. The Contractor is also directed to construct a fill modular block wall with 21%:" deep blocks at approximately Sta. 40+40 LT.The wall will be topped with a black vinyl coated chain link fence(WSDOT Modified Type 6 fence with top rail). The above changes shall be in accordance with the plans listed below. Reason for Change: Modular Block and Landscape Block Walls. In order to provide the required clearance around the fire hydrants at the back of sidewalk and within the existing embankments, two cut walls and one fill wall are needed. Materials: This change order will result in the addition of 14.37 tons of bid item 17 (Crushed Surfacing Top Course), 242 SF of bid item 53 (Landscape Block Wall), and the addition of the following two new bid items: • Bid Item 60(Cement Concrete Coping) will be measured by the linear foot. The unit price includes construction of a cast in place reinforced concrete wall cap to be constructed on the top of the modular blocks, per the attached fill modular block wall detail sheet. • Bid Item 61 (Chain Link Fence)will be measured by the lump sum.The lump sum price includes the cost to install approximately 15 linear feet of vinyl coated chain link fence, meeting the attached WSDOT Modified Type 6 chain link fence detail, with top rail and with posts mounted on the concrete pad along the top of the fill wall. Acceptance shall be based on satisfactory test results of material incorporated into the project and proper documentation. Plans: The landscape block cut wall and the modular block fill wall shall be constructed per Roadway Detail Plan Sheets 23/RD-9 and 26/RD-12 and the attached fill modular block wall detail sheet.The black vinyl coated chain link fence shall conform the attached detail sheet.
