REQUEST FOR QUALIFICATIONS
DESIGN ENGINEERING SERVICES
RENTON ELEMENTARY AND MIDDLE SCHOOL CROSSINGS
The City of Renton (City), in accordance with Policy & Procedure No.250-02, is soliciting statements of
qualifications for A&E Professional Services for the project referenced above. The City is seeking consultants
with expertise in Civil Engineering Design for pedestrian crosswalks per current ADA standards, with offices
located in State of Washington and licensed to do business in the State of Washington. Interested consultants
must submit Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) as outlined below.
The City of Renton may retain the services of the successful firm for construction phase. The agreement for
design will be approximately one year in duration with the option for the City of Renton to extend them for
additional time if necessary.
Project Description
The work to be performed by the CONSULTANT consists of performing engineering design for the Renton
Elementary and Middle School Crossings project.This project will provide for pedestrian improvements at the
following Renton school crossings within City of Renton Right-Of-Way (ROW). The scope includes surveying,
preliminary design, right of way certification, preparation of plans, specifications, and estimates for
construction bid documents, and bid support. This project has a voluntary 10% SBE goal.
The design elements include: install RRFB systems with push buttons, pedestrian ADA accessible curb ramps,
bulb-outs from the sidewalks, a center pedestrian refuge island, crosswalks pavement markings.
Evaluation Criteria
Submittals will be evaluated and ranked based on the following criteria:
1) Project Team (25 points total, max.)
2) Project Experience (30 points total, max.)
3) Project Approach and Project Understanding (20 points total, max.)
5) Project Management and Proposed Schedule (25 points total, max.)
Submittal
For all submittal requirements, please review the complete RFQ which is available on the City of Renton web
page, www.rentonwa.gov/bids/. This link will direct you to the City Clerk's "Call for Bids, Proposals,
Qualifications" page. Under the "Request for Qualifications" section, select "Engineering Services—Renton
Elementary and Middle School Crossings".
Submittals should include the following information: Firm name, phone and fax numbers; Name of Principal-
in-Charge and Project Manager; and Number of employees in each firm proposed to project.

Please submit ONE original and FOUR copies of your Statement of Qualifications to: Renton City Clerk's Office,
Renton City Hall— 7th Floor, 1055 South Grady Way, Renton, WA 98057-3232 Attention: Flora Lee, RE:
Engineering Services-Renton Elementary and Middle School Crossings Project no later than 5:00 p.m. on
Friday, November 1, 2019. Submittals will not be accepted after that time and date. Any questions regarding
this project should be directed to Joey Harnden, at 425-430-7225.
