• Please join us tomorrow, Tuesday, September 26th, from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the
Piazza Park in downtown Renton for our LAST market of the season as we say thank you to
all of our farmers and producers of fresh flowers, local produce, and tasty treats you have
come to Iove so much over the past 16 weeks! This week, we have a cooking
demonstration from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. from our friends at WSU's Food $ense program, and
Biff Moss performs live from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. For more information, check out our website

• City leaders, community leaders, and citizens will meet at Piazza Park for the second Unity
March & Rally on Thursday, September 28th from 3:00 to 4:30 p.m. Our theme is "We are
stronger together." Come join us!
• The city is in the process of updating its Bicycle and Trails Master Plan and is interested in
public input. Please join us for an open house on Thursday, September 28th from 5:00 to
8:00 p.m. at the Renton Community Center, 1715 SE Maple Valley Highway in Renton.

• Join us at Sam's Club parking lot at 901 South Grady Way for a free document shredding
event on Saturday, September 30th from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. (or until the truck is

donations will be accepted for the Renton Food Bank.
• A new and improved Renton Clean Sweep Program will be in effect for single family
residential customers. Each household may schedule one collection to take place on its
regular garbage day until December 29th at no additional charge. For questions or to
schedule your Clean Sweep collection, contact Republic Services at 206-777-6440.
• The Solid Waste Utility will host its second free Eco Film Series by exploring textile waste on
Thursday, October 19th at 6:00 p.m. at Carco Theatre, 1717 Maple Valley Highway in
Renton. Participants may drop off gently used winter hats, scarves, and gloves for the Swap
Winter Accessories Party (SWAP). Questions may be directed to Solid Waste Program

• The Community Services Department would appreciate input from Renton residents on a
Parks &Trails Customer Satisfaction Survey through the month of September. Available on
the city's website and in hardcopy form at the Renton Senior Activity Center, the Renton
Community Center, the Highlands Neighborhood Center, and City Hall, we encourage park
patrons to give us their feedback. Thanks for spreading the word! Contact Cailin Hunsaker,

• Information about preventative street maintenance, traffic impact projects, and road

Preventative street maintenance,traffic impact projects, and road closures will be at the
following locations:
✓ Monday, September 25th through Friday, September 29th. Expect intermittent lane
closures and traffic delays along Talbot Road South (SR 515) between 9:00 a.m. and 2:30
p.m. related to the I-405/SR 167 Interchange Direct Connector Project.
In addition, northbound and southbound nighttime lane restrictions and closures along
SR 167 and I-405 are also scheduled this week related to the project. More detailed
information about these restrictions and closures is available tonight on the back table.
The information outlines specific dates and times of the closure. Questions may be

Expect intermittent lane closures along South Grady Way between Main Avenue South
and Shattuck Avenue South for asphalt repair. Questions may be directed to Street

✓ Monday, September 25th through Friday, September 29th, 7:00 a.m.to 7:00 p.m.
Expect intermittent lane closures along Bronson Way NE between NE 3rd Street and
Edmonds Avenue NE for the street overlay project. Questions may be directed to
Pavement Management Technician Jayson Grant at 425-766-2134.
✓ Monday, September 25th through Friday, September 29th. Expect intermittent lane
and sidewalk closures along Burnett Avenue South between South 7th Street and South
4th Street (in the vicinity of Burnett Linear Park) for the construction of ADA ramp
upgrades. Questions may be directed to Pavement Management Technician Jayson

✓ Monday, September 25th through Friday, September 29th, 10:00 p.m.to 4:30 a.m.
Talbot Road South between the northbound I-405 on-ramp and the southbound I-405
off-ramp will be fully closed. Detours will be provided for both the southbound and
northbound directions of Talbot Road South. Questions may be directed to Rohini Nair

✓ Monday, September 25th through Sunday, October 1st. Road closure on South 14th
Street between Smithers Avenue South and Davis Avenue South for utility construction.

✓ Monday, September 25th through approximately Friday, October 6th. WSDOT will be
repaving and installing sidewalk upgrades along a portion of Maple Valley Highway (SR
169) between 140th Avenue SE (MP 22.86) and Blaine Drive Vic (MP 24.84).
Construction will occur during daytime and nighttime hours and will result in a reduction
of lanes as outlined below:
Daytime closures (up to one lane at a time in either the northbound or southbound
direction, not concurrently):
• Northbound —Lane closure permitted between 8:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday
through Friday.
• Southbound —Lane closure permitted between 7:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., Monday
through Friday.
Nighttime closures (up to two lanes will be permitted in either the northbound and/or
southbound direction):
• Northbound —Lane closures permitted between 8:00 p.m. and 10:00 a.m., Sunday
through Friday.
• Northbound —Lane closures permitted between 8:00 p.m. Friday and 10:00 a.m.
Sunday.
• Southbound —Lane closures permitted between 10:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m., Sunday
through Friday.
• Southbound —Lane closures permitted between 9:30 p.m. Friday to 10:00 a.m.
Sunday.

✓ Monday, September 25th through approximately Friday, November 3rd. NE 10th
Street will be closed between Harrington Avenue NE and NE Sunset Blvd. Sunset Lane
NE will be closed just north and just south of NE 10th Street. These road closures affect
access to the Renton Highlands Library. The Highlands Library parking garage will be
accessible from the south only during these road closures. Questions may be directed

✓ Monday, September 25th through August 2018, 8:30 a.m. to 4:45 p.m. Additional
construction traffic due to the construction of Sartori Elementary School at the 300
