As indicated in the emails below, the City of Renton is seeking dismissal of your appeal on the basis that it was not filed within the 15 day appeal period set by Section 1-3-2 of the Renton Municipal Code. You have a right to argue and present evidence against the City's request to dismiss your appeal. If you wish to contest the City's request for dismissal, please email your argument and any supporting documentation to Cynthia Moya, deputy City of Renton City Clerk, at CMoya@rentonwa.gov by 5:00 November 13, 2019. The City may reply to the response by 5:00 pm November 15, 2019. Please note this is not the time to argue your appeal, but only to address whether or not your appeal should be dismissed because it was untimely. If your appeal is not dismissed as untimely, a hearing will then be scheduled to address the mertis of your appeal. The appeal was received on October 29, 2019. Per RMC 1-3-2: 2. Appeal Requirements: a. Timeliness: Any appeal of the Administrator’s decision must be filed and served within fifteen (15) calendar days of the issuance of the decision. An appellate petition or motion is barred, and the court may not grant review, unless the petition is timely filed with the court and timely served on the City. This appeal was filed 27 days after the Notice of Violation date, therefor it is not a timely appeal. Please have the Hearing Examiner dismiss this appeal.
