Since Habitat for Humanity uses volunteer labor for much of construction, construction can be expected to last several years. Construction activities will be restricted to the hours of 7:00 am to 8:00 pm Monday through Friday. Any work on Saturdays will be limited to the house of 9:00 am to 8:00 pm. No work will occur on Sundays. All hauling will be limited to 8:30 am to 3:30 pm Monday through Friday. There is only one vehicle access to the site, so all access will be though the existing access point at the north side of the site. The existing internal street is already paved, which will reduce the amount of dust leaving the site due to construction activities. The primary construction route from Washington State Route 167 to SE Carr Road and Petrovitsky Road will minimize construction traffic in the residential neighborhood to the north of the site. Proposed Construction Transportation Route The internal street is paved, but care will be taken to avoid spreading dust from construction on it and on the neighboring residential streets. Any construction vehicle driving on unpaved areas of the site will drive over 4” to 8” quarry spalls with a depth of 12” before returning to pavement. If dust from construction traffic is not minimized sufficiently through the use of quarry spalls, wheel washes will be installed. To minimize other impacts from construction activities standard TESC measures will be implemented such as a temporary construction fences and a silt fence to control erosion. More detail on these measures will be included in the building permit submittal. No special hours for construction or hauling are proposed. No construction activity is expected to occur in the public way; however care will be taken to minimize the impact of construction on the current homeowners living in the existing townhouses at the site.
