The Sunset Neighborhood Park is now closed for construction of phase 2.
Construction is expected to be completed in June 2020. Phase 2 project
improvements include a playground, mist water feature, picnic area, adult fitness
area, pavilion, pergolas, walkways, rain gardens, and open space areas.
Giving Trees will be at City Hall and the Renton Community Center from November
15 to December 23. Select a Renton Salvation Army tag and bring the unwrapped
gift with the tag attached to City Hall by December 10. Or you can make a monetary
donation to the city's Gift of Play recreation scholarship fund. Your entire donation
will provide help with fees for low‐income youth, older adults, and adaptive
recreation participants. Gift of Play donations should be made by December 23.
Information about preventative street maintenance, traffic impact projects, and
road closures happening this week can be found at http://rentonwa.gov/traffic. All
projects are weather permitting and unless otherwise noted, streets will always
remain open. Preventative street maintenance, traffic impact projects, and road
closures will be at the following locations:
Monday, November 18 through Friday, November 22. Road closure on South
14th Street between Smithers Avenue South and Davis Avenue South for utility

Monday, November 18 through Friday, November 22, 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Possible intermittent lane closures at the intersection of Lind Avenue SW and SW
7th Street due to utility construction. Questions may be directed to Justin

Monday, November 18 through Friday, November 22, 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Possible intermittent lane closures on NE 12th Street between Edmonds Avenue
NE and NE Sunset Boulevard due to utility construction. Questions may be

Single lane closures on Talbot Road South in the vicinity of Valley Medical
Hospital related to the construction of the new medical office building.

North 6th Street and Park Avenue North in support of the King County Eastside
Sewer Interceptor Rehabilitation project to remove bypass line and restore right

Monday, November 18 through Wednesday, January 1, 2020. Full road closure
on Burnett Avenue North at North 6th Street in support of the King County
Eastside Sewer Interceptor Rehabilitation project. Resolution 4378 has been
approved by City Council for the roadway closure of Burnett Avenue North.
