DEMOLITION: IT IS THE INTENT OF THE WORK UNDER THIS CONTRACT TO INCLUDE THE DEMOLITION OF ALL EXISTING SITE IMPROVEMENTS AS INDICATED BY THIS DRAWING OR AS REQUIRED FOR NEW CONSTRUCTION. IT IS THE CONTRACTOR'S RESPONSIBILITY TO FULLY REVIEW THE SITE CONDITIONS AND TO CORRELATE THESE OBSERVATIONS WITH THE PROJECT WORK AND INCLUDE ALL NECESSARY DEMOLITION, WHETHER SHOWN OR NOT, AND INCLUDE ALL SUCH COSTS IN THE BASE BID. 2. CLEARING: IT IS THE INTENT OF THE WORK UNDER THIS CONTRACT TO CONDUCT ALL CLEARING NECESSARY TO BE ABLE TO COMPLETE ALL THE WORK OF THIS PROJECT. 3. CONTRACTOR SHALL LEGALLY DISPOSE OFF THE OWNER'S PROPERTY, ALL DEMOLISHED AND REMOVED MATERIALS, UNLESS INDICATED OTHERWISE. 4. BACKFILL AND COMPACT ALL VOIDS AND DEPRESSIONS OCCURRING AS A RESULT OF DEMOLITION ACTIVITIES. SEE SPECIFICATIONS FOR ALLOWABLE BACKFILL MATERIALS. 5. REMOVE EXISTING SOD AND TOPSOIL AS NECESSARY TO PROVIDE IMPROVEMENTS. CONTRACTOR SHALL DISPOSE OF EXCESS SOD AND TOPSOIL OFFSITE. 6. SEDIMENTS TRACKED ONTO PAVED SURFACES SHALL BE REMOVED BY SWEEPING. SEDIMENTS SHALL NOT BE WASHED DOWNSTREAM. SPRAY EXPOSED SOILS WITH WATER TO PREVENT DUST. RUNOFF SHALL NOT BE CREATED BY SPRAYING. EROSION CONTROL MEASURES SHALL BE PROVIDED THROUGHOUT CONSTRUCTION. WHEEL WASHES SHALL BE PROVIDED IF THE NOTED EROSION CONTROL MEASURES ARE NOT ADEQUATE TO PREVENT SEDIMENTS FROM ENTERING THE ROW 7. CONTRACTOR SHALL EXCAVATE AND FILL AS NECESSARY TO ACHIEVE SUBGRADES IN LAWN AND PLANTER BEDS REQUIRED BY THE LANDSCAPE PLANS. 8. PROTECT EXISTING UTILITIES WITHIN THE WORK LIMITS NOT SPECIFICALLY INDICATED FOR DEMOLITION. RAISE EXISTING UTILITIES TO FINISHED GRADE. REPLACE ALL TRAFFIC LOOPS DISTURBED/REMOVED DURING CONSTRUCTION PER CITY OF RENTON STANDARDS UNLESS OTHERWISE SHOWN ON PLANS. 9. SEE SHEETS C2.3 AND C2.4 FOR TEMPORARY EROSION AND SEDIMENT CONTROL NOTES AND DETAILS. 10. CONTRACTOR IS REQUIRED TO USE EXISTING TRUCK HAUL ROUTES AS NOTED PER CITY OF RENTON ORDINANCE 5339. ORDINANCE 5339 SPECIFIES THAT TRUCKS TAKE THE MOST DIRECT ARTERIAL ROUTE TO CONSTRUCTION SEQUENCE OR FROM ONE OF THE DESIGNATED TRUCK ROUTES. PARK AVENUE N. ADJACENT TO THE SITE IS THE NEAREST TRUCK ROUTE 11. TESC MEASURES IN PLACE FOR PRIOR CONSTRUCTION TO REMAIN AND BE MAINTAINED. CONTRACTOR SHALL ADD TESC MEASURES SHOWN. 12. THE SITE TOPOGRAPHIC SURVEY WAS COMPLETED BY THE OWNER'S CONSULTANT. PRIOR TO CONSTRUCTION AND MOVING MATERIAL, THE CONTRACTOR SHALL REVIEW THE SURVEY AND PROVIDE THE OWNER A SIGNED LETTER INDICATING THE CONTRACTOR AGREES WITH THE CONDITIONS NOTED BY THE SURVEY. IF THE CONTRACTOR DOES NOT AGREE WITH THE CONDITIONS OF THE SURVEY, THE CONTRACTOR SHALL COMPLETE AN INDEPENDENT 3RD PARTY SURVEY AND PROVIDE IT TO THE OWNER FOR REVIEW PRIOR TO CONSTRUCTION OR MOVING MATERIAL. 13. DEMOLISH AND REPLACE ALL TRAFFIC LOOPS WITHIN PAVING TO BE DEMOLISHED AND TRAFFIC LOOPS WITHIN EXISTING PAVING TO REMAIN CONNECTED TO LOOPS WITH EXISTING PAVEMENT TO BE DEMOLISHED. 14. PRIOR TO DEVELOPMENT ACTIVITIES, THE CONTRACTOR SHALL ERECT AND MAINTAIN SIX-FOOT (6) HIGH CHAIN LINK TEMPORARY CONSTRUCTION FENCING AROUND THE DRIPLINES OF ALL RETAINED TREES OR AT A DISTANCE SURROUNDING THE DIAMETER OF THE TREE ONE AND ONE QUARTER FEET (1.25') FOR EVERY ONE INCH (1") OF TRUNK CALIPER, WHICHEVER IS GREATER, OR ALONG THE PERIMETER OF A TREE PROTECTION TRACT. PLACARDS SHALL BE PLACE ON FENCING EVERY 50 FEET (50') INDICATING THE WORDS "NO TRESPASSING - PROTECTED TREE" OR ON EACH SIDE OF THE FENCING IN LESS THAN FIFTY FEET (50'). SITE ACCESS TO INDIVIDUALLY PROTECTED TREES OR GROUPS OF TREES SHALL BE FENCED AND SIGNED. INDIVIDUAL TREES SHALL BE FENCED ON FOUR (4) SIDES. IN ADDITION THE APPLICANT SHALL PROVIDE SUPERVISION WHENEVER EQUIPMENT OR TRUCKS ARE MOVING NEAR TREES. CERTIFIED ARBORIST OR LANDSCAPE SHALL MONITOR THE CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITIES THAT ARE NECESSARY WITHIN THE TREES DRIPLINES. WRITTEN NEED FOR REMOVAL OR REVISED LANDSCAPE AND CLEARING GRADING PLANS SHALL BE REVIEWED AND APPROVED BY CURRENT PLANNING PROJECT MANAGER PRIOR TO CONSTRUCTION PERMIT APPROVAL. A 1. ARRANGE AND ATTEND PRE -CONSTRUCTION MEETING WITH CITY OF RENTON, OWNER, CONTRACTOR, ESC LEAD, AND ENGINEER. STAKE CLEARING LIMITS PRIOR TO THIS MEETING. 2. POST NOTICE OF CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITY SIGN WITH NAME AND PHONE NUMBER OF ESC LEAD. 3. FENCE CLEARING LIMITS AND TREE PROTECTION AREAS. 4. INSTALL CATCH BASIN SEDIMENT PROTECTION. 5. INSTALL PERIMETER PROTECTION (SILT FENCE, OR OTHER MEASURES) WHERE SPECIFIED ON THE ESC PLAN AND/OR REQUIRED BY THE CITY INSPECTOR. 6. GRADE AND STABILIZE CONSTRUCTION ENTRANCE(S). 7. GRADE AND STABILIZE CONSTRUCTION ROAD(S). 8. CLEAR AND GRUB WITHIN CONSTRUCTION LIMITS. 9. CONSTRUCT SURFACE WATER CONTROLS (INTERCEPTOR SWALES, CHECK DAMS, TEMPORARY SEDIMENT POND, ETC.) SIMULTANEOUSLY WITH CLEARING AND GRADING FOR PROJECT DEVELOPMENT. 10. PROVIDE PLASTIC COVERING ON ALL EXPOSED SLOPES 5H:1V OR GREATER. ALL FILLS MUST BE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE RECOMMENDATIONS OF THE GEOTECHNICAL ENGINEER. 11. MAINTAIN EROSION CONTROL MEASURES IN ACCORDANCE WITH CITY OF RENTON STANDARDS, NPDES PERMIT AND EROSION AND SEDIMENT CONTROL REPORT. 12. RELOCATE SURFACE WATER CONTROLS AND EROSION CONTROL MEASURES OR INSTALL NEW MEASURES, SO THAT, AS SITE CONDITIONS CHANGE, THE EROSION AND SEDIMENT CONTROL IS ALWAYS IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE CITY OF RENTON EROSION AND SEDIMENT CONTROL REQUIREMENTS. 13. ANY AREAS OF EXPOSED SOILS, INCLUDING ROADWAY EMBANKMENTS, THAT WILL NOT BE DISTURBED FOR TWO DAYS DURING THE WET SEASON (OCT 1 TO APR 30) OR SEVEN DAYS DURING THE DRY SEASON (MAY 1 TO SEPT 30) SHALL BE IMMEDIATELY STABILIZED WITH THE APPROVED ESC MEASURES. 14. ROUGH GRADE SITE. 15. CONSTRUCT PERMANENT STORMWATER FACILITIES. 16. CONSTRUCT ALL OTHER SITE IMPROVEMENTS. 17. SEED OR SOD ANY AREA TO REMAIN UNWORKED FOR MORE THAN 30 DAYS. 18. UPON SUBSTANTIAL COMPLETION, ALL DISTURBED AREAS MUST BE STABILIZED. EROSION AND SEDIMENT CONTROL MEASURES SHALL REMAIN IN PLACE UNTIL APPROVAL IS OBTAINED FROM THE CITY OR RENTON.
