His current service on the City Center Community Planning Advisory Board does not allow him to sit on two Commissions/Boards with the City. On-going Projects, Events & Programs:  Merrill Gardens Wall Treatment proposal – Merrill gardens submitted plans to the City with their request to articulate their blank wall with metal art on their new facility located at 104 Burnett Ave S. They received approval from the Hearing Examiner to expand the facility onto property they own on the Williams Ave S frontage. One of the conditions of their permit approval was to screen a blank wall along the Williams Ave S façade that contains a utility room on the other side. Most of the ground floor façade along Williams Ave S and the abutting alley contains an architectural rhythm of three glass panels with an overhead canopy separated by brick and sconce lighting. Staff recommended to the applicant that they continue that ground floor rhythm. The City Planning Department has asked the Arts Commission to review and provide feedback on the proposed project. A motion was made to approve the design with the request that the design be carried up beyond the doorframe and that backlighting be considered where possible. MSC (Kaie/Marsha)  Vigor Mural update – The search continues for a home for the mural design by Alexander Codd.  The Renton Loop – the contract with Western Neon was approved by City Council on August 19.  Sunset Art Project – the contract with artist, Kirk Seese, was approved by City Council on August 19.  Art at Penney Lofts – Property owner, Dave Smith, provided preliminary drawings of an artistic treatment he is proposing for the front of the building located at 700 S 3rd Street. The images were intended only as a hint of things to come and the plans have not yet been approved by the City or the Arts Commission.  Downtown Mural – The South Renton neighborhood has selected Sybil McIntyre to complete the mural on the back of Burger Town. The design Sybil has proposed will highlight the images of the Farmers Market posters through the years. The design will incorporate market images (fruits and vegetables, buskers and tens) and will extend the length of the wall (above the height of the dumpsters).  Benson Hill Neighborhood – The Benson Hill Advisory Committee has selected the wall on Petrovitsky (at 117th) to focus on for a future mural project. The neighborhood will be working with AmeriCorps Vista, Elena Rodriguez, to solicit feedback from the community and frame the project as a community engagement and place-making project. The meeting was adjourned at 7:17p.m.
