To help make every day Earth Day in Renton, the Solid Waste Utility has created a
fun Earth Day Bingo Challenge for all ages that will run through May 4. To share with
the community small changes we can make to take care of the earth, participants
can post their photos and bingo card on social media with #EarthLoveRenton. In
addition to the Earth Day Bingo Challenge, the Earth Day at 50 newsletter from the
Utility Systems Division provides tips and information on conserving resources and
saving money. These items may be found on our website at
www.rentonwa.gov/earthday.
The deadline to enter the K‐12 2020 Census art competition is Thursday, April 30!
To enter, create art for census awareness and email a photo of your creation to
rencensus@thevoiceofplanet.com. For more information, visit thevoiceofplanet.com

You can find information on the city’s website and social media pages regarding the
city’s COVID‐19 response. Additionally, the Mayor’s newsletter is published three
times per week and has the most up‐to‐date information and access to state and
county resources. If you haven’t signed up for the Mayor’s newsletter, you can do
so at http://rentonwa.gov/mnl.
Information about preventative street maintenance, traffic impact projects, and
road closures happening this week can be found at http://rentonwa.gov/traffic. All
projects are weather permitting and unless otherwise noted, streets will always
remain open. Preventative street maintenance, traffic impact projects, and road
closures will be at the following locations:
Monday, April 27 through Sunday, May 3. Road closure on South 14th Street
between Smithers Avenue South and Davis Avenue South for utility construction.

Monday, April 27 through Friday, May 1, 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Single
intermittent lane closures in both directions on Talbot Road South at 4827 Talbot
Road South due to roadway and utility construction. Questions may be directed

Monday, April 27 through Friday, May 1, 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Single
intermittent lane closures along Logan Avenue North between North 6th Street
and Park Avenue North for the King County Eastside Sewer Interceptor
Rehabilitation project to perform pavement restoration. Questions may be

Monday, April 27 through Friday, May 1, 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Intermittent
lane closures on South 2nd Street, Wells Avenue South, South 3rd Street, and
Williams Avenue South due to utility construction. Questions may be directed to
Joel McCann at 425‐757‐9595.
Monday, April 27 through Friday, May 1, 9:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. The
northbound on‐ramp to I‐405 from Lake Washington Boulevard/Northeast 44th
Street will be closed to support the WSDOT I‐405 Renton to Bellevue Widening
and Express Toll Lanes Project. A signed detour will be in place. Questions may

Monday, April 27 through June 2020. The Williams Avenue South and Wells
Avenue South Conversion Project commenced April 20. Reductions in traffic
lanes will occur along South 2nd Street and South 3rd Street through mid‐June to
accommodate utility infrastructure installation. The city has conducted outreach
to notify residents and businesses, and will follow up with additional notification
via mail. Updates are posted on the project webpage at
www.rentonwa.gov/wellswilliams, as well as the city’s social media pages.
