The undersigned are the owners of not less than ten percent (10%) in value, according to the
assessed valuation for general taxation, of property which they desire to annex to the City of
Renton.
We hereby advise the City Council of the City of Renton that it is our desire to commence
annexation proceedings under the provisions ofRCW 3SA14.120 of all or any part of the area
described below.
The territory proposed to be annexed is within King County, Washington, and is contiguous to
the City of Renton. A map (Exhibit I) and legal description (Exhibit 2) are included as part of
this petition.
The City Council is requested to set a date not later than sixty days after the filing of this request·
for a public meeting with the undersigned.
l. At such meeting, the City Council will decide whether the City will accept, reject or
geographically modifY the proposed annexation;
·2. The City Council will decide whether to require simultaneous adoption of zoning
regulations; zoning to be determined after two public hearings and guided by the
City'S Comprehensive Land Use Plan; and,
3. The City Council will decide whether to require the aSsumption of existing city
indebtedness by the area to be annexed.

Dear Mr. Dennison:
The purpose of this letter is to request that the City of Renton begin the process for annexation of
an 8.7 acre area in the Renton Highlands between 10th & 12th Avenue (shown on the enclosed
map). Enclosed herein are signatures of property owners representing 50-60% of the current
assessed valuation.
We also request that zoning be considered simultaneously. We are developing the application for
amending the comprehensive land use plan to include this new area as "CN" in order to enable a
higher use of this land. We feel that multi-family zoning for the north one-half and R-IO zoning
for the south one-half (see map) would provide an effective and quality transition from both
commercial business and the large high density apartment complexes to high quality residential.
The "Boston" property is initiating this and desires to build 14 townhouses (11.1 units/acre) with
a 6,000 fV pond/fountain in the center requiring MF zoning. This property is bounded by the
Honeydew apartment complex on the west and southwest, low income program four-plexes on
the north, a church on the east, and low density residential (1 unitl2 acre) to the south. Crime rate
and transient population on 12th require some kind of buffer to higher class residential.
Future development potential for properties to the south could utilize the R-l 0 for a transition via
a mix offour-plex to single family.
