The Water Utility will be hosting free virtual natural yard care classes May 19 and
May 27 at 6:30 p.m. Local gardening expert Ladd Smith will teach utility customers
about water conservation in the garden, building healthy soils, attracting wildlife,
and other sustainable yard care lessons. Participants may register for the secured
presentation by emailing Limhoff@rentonwa.gov. Each participant will be emailed
the required Zoom meeting ID and password prior to the class.
You can find information on the city’s website and social media pages regarding the
city’s COVID-19 response. Additionally, the Mayor’s newsletter is published three
times per week and has the most up-to-date information and access to state and
county resources. If you haven’t signed up for the Mayor’s newsletter, you can do
so at http://rentonwa.gov/mnl.
Information about preventative street maintenance, traffic impact projects, and
road closures happening this week can be found at http://rentonwa.gov/traffic. All
projects are weather permitting and unless otherwise noted, streets will always
remain open. Preventative street maintenance, traffic impact projects, and road
closures will be at the following locations:
Monday, May 11 through Sunday, May 17. Road closure on South 14th Street
between Smithers Avenue South and Davis Avenue South for utility construction.

Monday, May 11 through Friday, May 15, 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Single
intermittent southbound lane closure on Talbot Road South at 4827 Talbot Road
South due to grading activities. Questions may be directed to Joel McCann at

Monday, May 11 through Friday, May 15, 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Single
intermittent northbound lane closure on Talbot Road South near South 45th

Monday, May 11 through Friday, May 15, 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Single
intermittent lane closures in both directions on Talbot Road South in the vicinity
of Valley Medical Hospital related to the construction of the new medical office

Monday, May 11 through Friday, May 15, 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Intermittent
lane closures on South 2nd Street, Wells Avenue South, South 3rd Street, and
Williams Avenue South due to utility construction. Questions may be directed to

Monday, May 11 through Friday, May 15, 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Intermittent
southbound lane closures on East Valley Road at SW 34th Street, intermittent
north and southbound lane closures on Lind Avenue SW at SW 34th Street, and
intermittent lane closures on Oakesdale Avenue SW at SW 34th Street due to

southbound on-ramp, right lane, and shoulder to I-405 from Lake Washington
Boulevard/Northeast 44th Street will be closed to support the WSDOT I-405
Renton to Bellevue Widening and Express Toll Lanes Project. A signed detour will

Wednesday, May 13 through Friday, May 15, 9:00 p.m. to 4:30 a.m . The
northbound off-ramp, right lane, and shoulder from I-405 to Lake Washington
Boulevard/Northeast 44th Street will be closed to support the WSDOT I-405
Renton to Bellevue Widening and Express Toll Lanes Project. A signed detour will
