RENTON CITY COUNCIL
NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City of Renton is holding a virtual/telephonic Public
Hearing by the Renton City Council on August 10, 2020 at 7 p.m. by means of a Zoom
video‐conference web application. The public is encouraged to view and/or attend the
meeting by: (1) clicking this link: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/87006639675 (or copy the
URL and paste into a web browser) or (2) call‐in to the Zoom meeting by dialing 253‐
215‐8782 and entering 870 0663 9675, or (3) email cityclerk@rentonwa.gov or call 425‐
430‐6501 by 10 a.m. on the day of the meeting to request an invite with a link to the
meeting.
The Renton City Council will consider the following:
Ordinance No. 5974: An Ordinance of the City of Renton, Washington, adopting
an Interim Zoning Control in response to the phased opening of businesses
following the COVID‐19 declared public health emergency; temporarily
establishing a permit to be known as an “Economic Recovery Revocable Right‐of‐
Way Permit” for businesses; temporarily allowing “Economic Recovery Signs” for
businesses; providing for severability; declaring an emergency; and establishing
an immediate effective date.
If you wish to attend the virtual meeting: Each person who wishes to testify on this
public hearing will be provided 5 minutes each unless an exception is granted by the
Council. Attendees will be muted and not audible to the Council except during times
they are designated to speak. Advance instructions for how to address the Council will
be provided to those who sign up in advance and again during the meeting.
Alternatively, written comments on this topic can be submitted to
cityclerk@rentonwa.gov by 5:00 p.m. on August 10, 2020.
Although it is anticipated an updated order from the Governor will prohibit physical
attendance at the meeting, if such order is not issued, a space will be made available at
Renton City Hall, 1055 S. Grady Way, WA 98057 for the public to attend.
