Footing Excavation Rep observed contractor backfill with 3’ of crushed rock and native brown silty sand with gravel material. While onsite, rep used a ½” steel t-probe and observed the footing subgrade to be very dense, firm, unyielding, and suitable for support of the proposed footing. Rep observed 1’ lifts of native material compacted with a hoe pack and jumping jack to grade. ESNW rep observed that the contractor had achieved minimum compaction standards of 95% or greater in areas tested. Cut Slopes While onsite, rep observed slopes of the cut slopes to be near vertical. Rep observed that the north slopes of the excavation were near a 0.75:1 (H:V) slope. Although over-steepened, slopes are stable in current configuration and stable to work within.
