Project No. Permit No. Supplementary Report: At the client’s request, ESNW rep was onsite to observe roof drain trench excavation and cut slopes. Roof Drain Trench ESNW rep observed contractor using a medium sized excavator to excavate a 1’ deep grading to 3’ deep trench along the entire perimeter of the upper building. ESNW rep observed contractor placing an 8’’ drain pipe. Rep used a ½” steel t-probe and observed the subgrade to be very dense, firm, unyielding, and suitable for support of the proposed roof drains. Cut Slopes While onsite, rep observed slopes of the cut slopes to be near vertical. Rep observed that the north slopes of the excavation were near a 0.75:1 (H:V) slope. Although over-steepened, slopes are stable in current configuration and stable to work within. The contractor is responsible for providing all safety measures in accordance with state and federal regulation ESNW rep will return to observe earthwork activities when requested by client Fig 1.
