FOR BEDDING AND BACKFILLING AROUND EXISTING OR NEW UTILITIES USE CDF WHERE STANDARD METHODS DO NOT PERMIT COMPACTION REQUIREMENTS TO BE MET, AS SHOWN ON THE DWGS, OR AS DIRECTED BY ENGINEER. 15. FIELD LOCATE AND POTHOLE UTILITIES WHERE INDICATED IN PLANS. PROVIDE INFORMATION ON EXISTING UTILITY TO ENGINEER TWO WEEKS PRIOR TO ANY UNDERGROUND WORK NEAR THE UTILITY. 16. SEGMENTS OF THE WORK MAY BE PERFORMED UNDER ELECTRICAL OVERHEAD POWER LINES. IT IS THE CONTRACTOR'S RESPONSIBILITY TO PERFORM THE WORK IN A SAFE MANNER AND IN ACCORDANCE WITH ANY REQUIREMENTS SET FORTH BY THE UTILITY OWNER AND APPLICABLE LAWS AND REGULATIONS. CONTRACTOR SHALL CONTACT KING COUNTY METRO AT 206-477-1140 WITH NOTICE OF AT LEAST 10 WORKING DAYS PRIOR TO CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITIES. 22. NO CONSTRUCTION RELATED ACTIVITY SHALL CONTRIBUTE TO THE DEGRADATION OF THE ENVIRONMENT, ALLOW MATERIAL TO ENTER THE SURFACE OR GROUND WATERS, OR ALLOW PARTICULATE EMISSIONS TO THE ATMOSPHERE, WHICH EXCEED STATE OR FEDERAL STANDARDS. ANY ACTIONS THAT POTENTIALLY ALLOW A DISCHARGE TO STATE WATERS MUST HAVE PRIOR APPROVAL OF THE WASHINGTON STATE DEPARTMENT OF ECOLOGY.
