Supplementary Report:
At the client’s request, ESNW rep was onsite to observe and test sewer main backfill and slope stability.
Sewer Main Backfill
ESNW Rep observed contractor backfill around a sewer main junction connecting to the main building. Rep
observed contractor backfill with native brown silty sand with gravel material. While onsite, rep used a ½” steel t-
probe and observed the subgrade to be very dense, firm, unyielding, and suitable for support of the 8’’ sewer main.
Rep observed contractor place 18’’ of pea gravel and then 1’ lifts of native material compacted with a jumping jack
to grade. ESNW rep observed that the contractor had achieved minimum compaction standards of 95% or
greater in locations tested.
Cut Slopes
While onsite, rep observed slopes of the cut slopes to be near vertical. Rep observed that the north slopes of the
excavation were near a 0.75:1 (H:V) slope. Although over-steepened, slopes are stable in current configuration
and stable to work within. The contractor is responsible for providing all safety measures in accordance with state
and federal regulation
ESNW rep will return to observe earthwork activities when requested by client

Supplementary Report:
At the client’s request, ESNW rep was onsite to test pH of stormwater and observe slope stability.
Test pH of Stormwater
ESNW Rep took tests to determine the pH of stormwater. Rep observed <25NTU in the filled baker tank. Rep
observed that contractor added dry ice to lower the pH level to 6.5, suitable for sewer discharge. Rep observed
that pH level was contained onsite.
Catchment Basin:
Slopes of new temporary stormwater catchment basin were in a stable condition. Slopes of temporary basin were
observed to be in a stable condition. Slopes are stable in current configuration and stable to work within. The
contractor is responsible for providing all safety measures in accordance with state and federal regulation.
Cut Slopes
While onsite, rep observed slopes of the cut slopes to be near vertical. Rep observed that the north slopes of the
excavation were near a 0.75:1 (H:V) slope. Although over-steepened, slopes are stable in current configuration

Supplementary Report:
At the client’s request, ESNW rep was onsite to observe trench excavation and slope stability.
Water Line Trench Excavation
While onsite, contractor was observed using a medium excavator to excavate 100’ of 4’ deep trench for a 6’’ ductile
iron water line. Contractor relayed pipe would be covered with 18’’ of pea gravel and then backfilled with brown
silty sand with gravel native material. Rep used a ½” steel t-probe to probe the trench and observed the water line
trench subgrade to be very dense, firm, unyielding, and suitable for support of the proposed water line.
Roof Drain Trench
ESNW rep observed contractor using a medium sized excavator to excavate a 150’ long 2’ deep trench for a roof
drain along the southern margin of the main building. Rep used a ½” steel t-probe and observed the subgrade to
be very dense, firm, unyielding, and suitable for support of the proposed roof drain.
