Puget Sound Energy – Hoquiam Avenue Luminaires Project
Application for: Exemption from Critical Areas Regulations
Puget Sound Energy (PSE) plans to install four new utility poles within the existing, improved right-of-
way along Hoquiam Avenue NE between NE 12th Street and to approximately Renton Issaquah Road SE.
10 new luminaires would also be installed; six on existing utility poles and 4 on the new utility poles.
A portion of the project would be located within the 100-foot wetland buffer. However, no net loss of
functions or values to the critical areas are anticipated from the project. Therefore, PSE is requesting an
exemption from the City of Renton’s Critical Areas regulation for the project.
