While onsite, ESNW rep observed the following: Water main Backfill Rep observed that the contractor was installing water main on the north east corner of the site. ESNW rep observed that the contractor had backfilled the shallow water main and compacted the backfill to a dense and solid state using a medium track hoe pack. ESNW rep will return on Monday to take surface tests on the water main backfill. Excavation Observations While on -site, ESNW rep. observed the grading contractor continuing to work next to the over steepened temporary excavation cuts. At the time of visit, ESNW rep. observed the temporary excavation to be stable in its current condition and configuration, suitable for work to be conducted within the excavation. It is the responsibility of the contractor to perform and implement all necessary safety measures in accordance with state and federal regulations. ESNW rep recommends that the contractor cover the exposed soil slopes of the excavation with plastic anchored using stakes and sandbags. ESNW rep will return when requested.
