At the client's request, ESNW rep was onsite to observe rockeries and earthwork activities.
Rockeries
While onsite, rep used a'/z" steel t-probe and observed the keyway for the rockery located at the northeast corner of
the site to be very dense, firm, unyielding, and suitable for support of the proposed rockery. Rep observed contractor
use a medium sized excavator to place a few courses of rocks with a 4" perforated pipe behind the basecourse. Pipe
was observed embedded in an 8" lift of 1 "-2" wash rock wrapped in a geotextile. Above the wash rock rep observed
contractor backfilling the rockery face with 2"-4" quarry spalls.
Earthwork Activities
Rep observed contractor use a large dozer, a large excavator, and several haul trucks to excavate material from site.
Rep observed contractor exporting material offsite.
ESNW rep will return to observe earthwork activities when requested by client.

At the client's request, ESNW rep was onsite to observe and test mass fill, rockeries, vault excavation and earthwork
activities.
Mass Fill
While onsite, rep observed contractor use two large excavators, a large dozer, and several haul trucks. Rep observed
contractor export material offsite. Rep observed contractor place and compact with native material for general fill in
the northwest corner of the site. Rep observed contractor use a dozer to place loose 6" lifts and using a large sheep's
foot roller for compaction. Rep took compaction tests and observed material to be adequate of at least 95% of its
maximum dry density (130.7 lbs./cu. ft.). Rep observed contractor using a water truck to add water to native material
fill.

Vault Excavation
Rep observed contractor use a large excavator to excavate the vault. Contractor expressed plans to continue working
in the vault excavation next week. Rep will return to observe the conditions of the slopes next week.
