Below is a high-level summary of the federal and state funding we have received, emergency funding passed by the King County Council for response and recovery efforts, and our actual spending as of May 31, 2020. King County has received the following funding from federal and state agencies: Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security CARES) Act: $530 million* The CARES Act provides for payments to state, local, and tribal governments navigating the impact of the COVID-19 outbreak. Washington State Department of Commerce - COVID- 19 Outbreak Emergency Housing Grant: $10.7M Funding for local governments to create housing necessary for quarantine, isolation, and additional sanitation to address the COVID-19 pandemic.
