Willow Drive, Suite 320 Greenwood Village, CO 80111 303.770.8884 • GallowayUS.com December 29, 2020 City of Renton Planning Division 1055 South Grady Way Renton, WA 98057 Re: Construction Mitigation Description Wal-Mart Supercenter #2516 at 743 Rainier Avenue Proposed Building Expansion and Covered Parking Addition Dear Review Team, Thank you in advance for taking the time to discuss and coordinate the proposed development at the existing and operational Wal-Mart Supercenter at 743 Rainier Avenue. To better service their Online Pickup clientele, Walmart is proposing to construct a small, ~43’x103’ (4,547 SF) expansion on the north side of the building. As part of the planned expansion they want to provide their Pickup customers with 41 dedicated parking spaces for pickup; of the 41 spaces, 6 are planned to be covered spaces. Please reference the attached site plans and conceptual colored perspectives in conjunction with this construction mitigation description for further details regarding relocation of utilities and adjustments proposed to existing landscaping. Construction of the building expansion and alteration of the parking area will occur in one phase and will begin in earnest once all AHJ permits have been received. The construction is expected to occur over the period of 6-7 months, 7 days a week using daily construction hours complying with city codes. The general contractor will utilize industry standard stormwater BMP’s to comply with all local, state and federal regulations. Construction hauling and general construction traffic will utilize the existing vehicle access at SW 7th Street located on the northwest corner of the site. No significant soil haulage is expected and as a result, haulage routes are expected to be handled on a case by case basis. Construction traffic will be generally shared with public traffic, however public traffic into the construction area will be denied via construction/security fencing.
