• The Public Works Maintenance Division spent the week of February 11-16
responding to a significant amount of snow, ice, cold temperatures, and cleanup.
The following is a summary of their efforts used to treat our roadways and keep
them safe during this event:
Total Miles Plowed: 8,884
Total Miles Deiced: 1,419
Tons of Salt Used: 412
Tons of Sand Used: 193
Gallons of Deicer Used: 8,965
• The Water Utility will be hosting a virtual information session on the 2019 Water
System Plan Update on Tuesday, February 23, from 5-7 p.m. This is an opportunity
for the public to comment on the goals of the plan. Supporting documents and a link
to the virtual session may be found on our website at
rentonwa.gov/city_hall/public_works/utility_systems/water_utility_engineering.
• Information about preventative street maintenance, traffic impact projects, and
road closures happening this week can be found at http://rentonwa.gov/traffic. All
projects are weather permitting and unless otherwise noted, streets will always
remain open. Preventative street maintenance, traffic impact projects, and road
closures will be at the following locations:
Monday, February 22 through Friday, February 26, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Intermittent lane closures along Park Avenue North between North 30th Street
and North 32nd Street for the City of Renton Kennydale 320 Reservoir Capital
Improvement Project. Questions may be directed to Joel McCann at 425-757-

Single lane closure along Wells Avenue South between South 2nd Street and
South 3rd Street for the City of Renton Downtown Streetscape Capital

Ongoing Trail Closure through Winter of 2020/21. Ripley Lane North Trail
closure just north of the VMAC and the trailhead going north in support the
WSDOT I-405 Renton to Bellevue Widening and Express Toll Lanes Project.

To allow for reconstruction of the South 3rd Street intersections at Williams
Avenue South and Wells Avenue South, road closures for the following dates are
tentatively scheduled. These road closures are scheduled as 24/7 for the listed
duration and detours will be in place. Please visit the project webpage at
