HomeMy WebLinkAboutAdmin Report EXECUTIVE DEPARTMENT M E M O R A N D U M DATE: March 8, 2021 TO: Randy Corman, Council President Members of Renton City Council FROM: Armondo Pavone, Mayor Ed VanValey, Chief Administrative Officer SUBJECT: Administrative Report • City of Renton single-family residential customers may schedule one collection of extra garbage to take place on their regular garbage day between March 2 and December 31, 2021, at no additional charge. Please review the Clean Sweep brochure located at republicservices.com/rentoncleansweep for instructions on scheduling your collection. The brochure includes items that can and cannot be accepted as part of this program, along with information on donation and collection sites for household goods that are no longer needed. • The Renton History Museum is reopening on Wednesday, March 10 with all the important precautions: masks required, social distancing, frequent cleaning, and limited capacity. Because our capacity is limited to 25% (or 15 people) at a time, we recommend that visitors call or email for reservations, so you won't be disappointed. Contact 425-255-2330 or rentonhistorymuseum@rentonwa.gov. Hours for March will be Wednesday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. March is Women's History Month! Come enjoy our women's history exhibit, What Difference Do Renton Women Make? • A virtual open house about the Downtown Utilities Improvement Project is scheduled for Thursday, March 11 from 3-4 p.m. This is an opportunity to learn about the project which begins construction later this month. To register for the open house, visit rentonwa.gov/duipwebinar1. Pre-registration is required to receive a link to the event. If you are unable to attend but interested in learning more about the project, visit rentonwa.gov/duip. • Information about preventative street maintenance, traffic impact projects, and road closures happening this week can be found at http://rentonwa.gov/traffic. All projects are weather permitting and unless otherwise noted, streets will always remain open. Questions may be directed to Joel McCann at 425-757- 9595.  Monday, March 8 through Friday, March 12, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Single lane closure along Wells Avenue South between South 2nd Street and South 3rd Street for the City of Renton Downtown Streetscape Capital Improvement Project. Questions may be directed to Kip Braaten at 425-757-9809.  Thursday, March 8 through Friday, March 12, 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Possible single intermittent lane closures in both directions near the 4550 block of Talbot Road South due to roadway construction. Questions may be directed to Tom Main at 206-999-1833.  Ongoing Trail Closure through Winter of 2020/21. Ripley Lane North Trail closure just north of the VMAC and the trailhead going north in support the WSDOT I-405 Renton to Bellevue Widening and Express Toll Lanes Project. Questions may be directed to Justin Johnson at 425-902-7172, or Kip Braaten at 425-757-9809.  To allow for reconstruction of the South 3rd Street intersections at Williams Avenue South and Wells Avenue South, road closures for the following dates are tentatively scheduled.
