Do not click links, reply or open attachments unless you know the content is safe. Please speak to the council against ending the shelter status of the Red Lion.. The homeless need somewhere to go. They are human beings in need. Many are probably mentally ill. Surely, there are solutions short of closing the shelter down altogether. If there is room for local input, I would like to discuss alternatives with the council: Such as: • better screening of incoming residents • better counseling service and other support services for incoming residents • a resident staff member - one or more - to handle issues that come up in the community and internally • screening client’s for treatment - the mentally ill and substance abuse lints, and make sure they are connected with appropriate services Beryl Gorbman beryl@gorbman.com LR - 000317
