Subject: Emergency Ordinance

So in the past week The Red Lion has had 3 major Fire, Police Responses. First one a resident set his room
on fire and brought a full response from Renton Fire and Police to evacuate people. Second was an
Automatic Fire Alarm, same big response. Third was a residence shuttered in their room and set off the
Sprinkler Water Flow alarm which not only brought in a full response from Renton but a Tukwila Engine
Company on mutual aid. Just 3 examples in a week’s time. Renton tax payers are picking up the tab, and
not to say when a response is of that magnitude it is jeopardizing others who might be in need of aid or fire
resources like heart attacks and such. This needs to be brought under control. This is why I support the
Renton City Council on their Emergency Ordinance to fix this wrong.
