• Today, March 22, all counties in Washington are observing Phase 3 COVID-19
protocols. In parks and on trails, outdoor gathering sizes are still limited. To help
ensure this guideline, picnic shelters will remain closed to both reserved and first-
come, first-serve use. Otherwise, all parks and trails are open. Continue to wear face
coverings, maintain distances of six feet, and practice good hygiene for everyone’s
good health. For further updates, please see the Parks and Trails webpage at
rentonwa.gov/parks or contact Community Services at 425-430-6600.
• Information about preventative street maintenance, traffic impact projects, and
road closures happening this week can be found at http://rentonwa.gov/traffic. All
projects are weather permitting and unless otherwise noted, streets will always
remain open. Preventative street maintenance, traffic impact projects, and road
closures will be at the following locations:
Monday, March 22 through Friday, March 26, 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Possible
single intermittent lane closures in both directions near the 4550 block of Talbot
Road South due to roadway construction. Questions may be directed to Tom

Monday, March 22 through Friday, March 26, 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Single
intermittent lane closures at the intersection of 168th Avenue SE and SE 116th
Street due to utility construction. Questions may be directed to Tom Main at
206-999-1833.
Monday, March 22 through Friday, March 26, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Intermittent lane closures on South 3rd Street and South 2nd Street between
Mills Avenue South and Rainier Avenue South for the Downtown Utility
Improvement Project (DUIP). Please visit the project webpage at

Intermittent lane closures at the intersection of South 3rd Street and Whitworth
Avenue SE due to utility construction. Questions may be directed to Patrick

Monday, March 22 through Friday, March 26, 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Single
intermittent lane closures in the northbound direction on East Valley Road at the
3400 block due to utility construction. Questions may be directed to Tom Main

Monday, March 22 through Friday, March 26, 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Possible
single intermittent lane closure at the intersection of Lind Avenue SW and SW
19th Street due to utility construction. Questions may be directed to Tom Main

Ongoing Trail Closure through Winter of 2020/21. Ripley Lane North Trail
closure just north of the VMAC and the trailhead going north in support the
WSDOT I-405 Renton to Bellevue Widening and Express Toll Lanes Project.

To allow for reconstruction of the South 3rd Street intersections at Williams
Avenue South and Wells Avenue South, road closures for the following dates are
tentatively scheduled. These road closures are scheduled as 24/7 for the listed
duration and detours will be in place. Please visit the project webpage at
