Project Name: 1139984 PKS S:Kennydale Culvert Repair
1.0 PROJECT NARRATIVE
Currently there is a sinkhole on Parks’ property (Parcel 3124059004) in the city of Renton at
3233 Mountain View AVE. The sinkhole is in the middle of a driveway that serves two
properties. The drainline creating the sink hole has been inspected. The finding show the
concrete pipe has broken allowing water to escape it’s intended path and significantly reducing
the capacity of the pipe leading to both backing up to the inlet and also escaping out into the
driveway surface. The King County Department of Natural Resourses and Parks is proposing to
replace the broken 12” concrete drain pipe with a corrugated HDPE pipe and add a type 1 catch
basin to facilitate a proper connection where the drain changes directions. We would also
implement the recommendation of the Renton Public Works tech and tight line from where the
culvert under the trail daylights to the new type 2 catch basin.
