HomeMy WebLinkAboutLand Use Application Submittal Process - Type ICITY OF RENTON | PERMIT SERVICES LAND USE APPLICATION SUBMITTAL PROCESS – TYPE I SPECIFIC CODE SECTION (S) RELATED TO THIS DOCUMENT RMC 4-8 Permits – General and Appeals PURPOSE To provide the basic steps in the review process and associated timelines from submittal to final decision. A Land Use application is required for all Type I permits (RMC 4-8-080G). TIME FRAME Type I permits do not require public notice of application, staff recommendation, or an open record hearing. A decision is issued administratively. Type I permits typically require three (3) weeks for processing. LAND USE PERMIT SUBMITTAL PROCEDURES Step 1: When you have gathered all the materials necessary for your application submittal, please email the Planning Customer Service team at PlanningCustomerService@rentonwa.gov to request the FTP link to upload your documents. Be sure to include the following information: a) application type, b) address of proposed work, and c) project name. Click here to access submittal requirements for individual applications. Step 2: If all required submittal items are provided and complete, unless waived by the Current Planning Project Manager, staff will take in the application for official review. All fees must be paid before the city will consider your land use permit application received. Until the application is received, the city cannot determine whether the application is complete or incomplete. If the submittal is deemed incomplete, application will be denied, and applicant will receive additional instructions via email. WHAT TO EXPECT AFTER YOUR PROJECT HAS BEEN SUBMITTED TO THE CITY The Current Planning Project Manager will review the application materials and issue a decision, typically within three (3) weeks from complete application. During the review period, revisions may be required. Type I permits shall generally be issued within 65 days of receiving a complete application. Once a thorough review has been completed, a decision is issued by the Administrator and subject to a 14-day open record appeal period to the Hearing Examiner. Note: The Applicant is responsible for compliance with all codes and regulations. This handout shall not be used as a substitute for codes and regulations.
