Members Present:
Paul Hebron, Marsha Rollinger,Jerri Everett, Adrienne LaFaye, Kim Eshelman, Neil
Sheesley, Bill Huls, Ben Andrews and Evelyn Re'ingold Excused Absence: Mitch

: Call to Order: Meeting was called to order by RMAC Co-Chair, Paul Hebron at 6:00
pm•
Introduction of Guests: Chris Koruga,Altitude Apartments came at the old meeting
time (4:30 pm). Ben Andrews presented Chris's inquiries: (1) Request to paint the
south concrete wall blue and add a whimsical design. (2) Proposed art layout for the
south entrance with 40 foot cinder blocks. Need basic guidelines for how high it can
be built. Note: 48" is the height limit; Civil Engineer needs to draw plans for any
higher. (3) Does lighting under the north structure need Planning Dept ok to meet
code? Regarding artwork, RMAC sub-committee will look at artist design concepts.
"Altitude Apartments can proceed with concrete wall`design, pending RMAC final art
approval." MSC- (Ben/Marsha) Elizabeth will check with planning on the height and ,
lighting guidelines and notify Chris.
Approval of Minutes: Minutes of the May 5, 2015 RMAG meeting,were read and
accepted as submitted. MSC (Bill/Adrienne)
New Business:
• RMAC Budget lnitiative— Elizabeth is to schedule a meeting of the Ri�/IAC
Executive Committee to discuss priorities.
• RMAC Art Awar.eness Initiative—Carco Theater has Ch 77 that will reach 6
counties and the City of Renton has Ch 21 and both can provide RMAC access
as long as no businesses are endorsed. Brian Beckly from the Renton
Reporter is to be contacted regarding an on-going arts calendar. The need for
a website presence was also discussed. Jerri, Kim, Paul, Neil and Bill to start
an Art Awareness committee. There is$2,000 available from,the Grants -
Committee for Art Awareness projects. �

• 4Culture Grant—A total of$9,000 was awarded to seven (Z) applicants. "The .
recommendations of the RMAC Grant Awards Committee are accepted as

� • Amelia Ossorio Proiect-Carco Theater is interested in discussing ideas with
RMAC. Meeting scheduled for July 13, 2015 with Cassie Welliver. Paul,Jaris,
' � Bill and Elizabeth to attend.
• Downtown Public Librarv Art Relocation—The "Stilt Walker" sculpture will
remain in Liberty Park,the old spot and "Homework Comes First" sculpture
will be slightly moved. Space will be left open for new art.
• Emer�in�-Art relocation is in place at Garden and Park Ave. New plaque is
' needed. Also, about 12 other plaques need to be replaced. Elizabeth and
Evelyn to check plaque status in RMAC art inventory.
• RMAC 50th Anniversarv Celebration -August 2015 marks 50 years that the �
RMAC has been a City of.Renton Commission. Opportunity to unveil our new
logo and dedicate "Going Global". Elizabeth will get the names of former
RMAC members and invite them to the celebration.
• Renton River Davs (7/24-26/151 - RMAC will participate with Arts Unlimited in
their booth in the Art Market this year. Kim,Jerri, Adrienne and Elizabeth will
be in the booth to represent the RMAC.
• RMAC-Bad�es—IVew commissioner badges are on order. Elizabeth needs to
know ASAP if lost badges need replacement.

Correspondence and announcements: The correspondence and event folders '
were circulated for individual review

• Until August 29th: "Furry Friends: From Fads to Family, a look at people and their
canine companions captured on camera through the years at the Renton History
Museum (call 425-255-2330 for times) �
