Specific funding sources and itemized expenditures to date '. . were presented.: The major RMAC fundingsou.rces are; (1) City of Renton, (2)4 Culture � Heritage Grant(Equipment), (3)4 Culture Sustained Support Grant, (4) 1%for.Arts Fund. � • Grants Report: Elizabeth attended a 4 Culture Grants Worl<shop that was very hefpful. Our grant applications'for the Heritage and Sustained.Support f.unds are due at the end of October. We are unsure that our applications will be renewed as requested. . • New Libraries Art Selection Update: The art budget,is highec than the$40;000-for. - Downtown and the.$50,000 for Highlands that was previously reported: The actual budgets are: Downtown$68,000 and Highlands$70,000: Sixty(60) artists responded to the."Call for Artists" and.their qualificationsand slides were reviewed. The.re is not .; ' much room for 3-dimensional art and the Selection Committee gave KGL the discretion . to negotiate.the type of art needed for the available spaces. ` Also,since the entrance to . the ciowntown library will be changed, a possible relocation of the bronze statue, - "Homework Comes First"was discussed. • : Downtown Revitalization: The downtown business community is on board with the , project and several RMAC members are involved with sub=committees (Marsha, Paul, ' Bill; Ben and Mitch)to work with tfie Downtown Association. A new apartment _ construction at the intersection of Main and Bronso.n will change the str.eets from one- way to two-way traffic. This will address some.of the way finding concerns about - navigating the many one-way streets downtown. Take a look at the RMAC Shace Point ` site for the latest presentation. . � � .. . ,- , ; �, . � �, �- � • RMAC Membership-An Ad Hoc Committee will be established to review applications and interview potential new commissioners. Susan Johnson.is helping.to identify a - possible "youth" category member for the RMAC.
