The responses to bidder inquiries, unless incorporated into a formal addendum to the contract,
are not part of the contract and are provided for the bidders’ convenience only. The responses
may be considered along with all other information furnished to prospective bidders for the
purpose of bidding on the project. The use of information provided in the responses to bidder
inquiries is not to be construed in any way as a waiver of the provisions nor excuse the contractor
from full compliance with the contract requirements. Bidders are cautioned that subsequent
responses or contract addenda may affect or vary a response previously given and any such
subsequent response or addenda should be taken into consideration when submitting a bid for
the project.
Bidder Inquiry No. 1
Drawing No. E2 note 17 and Drawing No. E6 note 8 in the plans are unclear if the network
switches are two at each location or just the fiber enclosures.

Section 9-29.13(10) in the Special Provisions was revised in Addendum No. 3 for clarification.
Bidder Inquiry No. 2
The plans call for an existing solar flashing bacon to be reconfigured as an AC system. Please
provide the manufacturer and model.

New Section 8-02.3(9) Seeding, Fertilizing, and Mulching in the Special Provisions was added in
Addendum No. 3. Section 8-02.3(11)B was revised in Addendum No. 3 for clarification.

What is the manufacturer of the tree box biofiltration unit?

The tree box biofiltration unit is not a proprietary item. The specifications and plans in the Bid
Documents provide performance specifications. Installation instructions would be per the chosen
vendor the Contractor uses. The City will review/approve to use when the Contractor submits
the unit that meets the requirements in the Bid Documents.
Bidder Inquiry No. 5
The 2 hydrant assemblies at stations 891+64 and 900+25 are not wet taps, and they are not
hydrants on the new water main. Where will those be paid for? Looks like those are wet taps -
but it calls out MJ x flange tees.

The two hydrant assemblies at stations 891+64 and 900+14 on the existing water main are part
of the bid item B18. These two hydrant assemblies are not wet taps, as the existing water main
west side of these two connections will be abandoned, and these hydrant assemblies will be
connected with 8”x6” tee and thrust block on west side. The bid item B12 (Cut and Cap Existing
Water Main ….) was revised from 9 to 11 in the Schedule of Prices in Addendum No. 3, for the
hydrant assemblies connection on the existing main at stations 891+64 and 900+14.

Trench backfill for pipe installation is not included in the payment description.

“Import crushed surfacing top course, bank run gravel or gravel borrow for trench backfill in
accordance with City of Renton Standard Detail 220.20” was added to Section 7-04.5 in the
Special Provisions in Addendum No. 3.

What is the length of the wire on note 18 for the service 3c #2 on Drawing No. E4 in the plans?

The run for wire note 18 is approximately 135 feet long. It comes from near the first driveway to
the north along NE 12th Street.
