ORDINANCENO.6020WHEREAS,incompliancewithRMC10-11-2.8.3,morethansixtypercent(60%)ofthepropertyownersorresidentsintheLaCrosseneighborhoodapprovedthespeedlimitchangetotwenty(20)milesperhour;andWHEREAS,theTransportationOperationsDivisionconductedspeedstudiesonPugetDriveSoutheastin2000,2011,and2020andrecommendsthatthespeedlimitbereducedfromforty(40)milesperhourtothirty-five(35)milesperhourfromEdmondsAvenuetoBensonRoadSouth;andWHEREAS,theTransportationOperationsDivisionconductedspeedstudiesonSouth132’Streetin2010and2020andrecommendsthatthespeedlimitbeincreasedfromtwenty-five(25)milesperhourtothirty(30)milesperhourfromthewestCitylimittoRentonAvenueSouth;NOW,THEREFORE,THECITYCOUNCILOFTHECITYOFRENTON,WASHINGTON,DOORDAINASFOLLOWS:SECTIONI.AllportionsoftheRentonMunicipalCodeinthisordinancenotshowninstrikethroughandunderlineeditsremainineffectandunchanged.SECTIONII.Section10-11-1oftheRentonMunicipalCodeisamendedasfollows:10-11-1SPEEDLIMITS:A.ThespeedlimitonallstreetswithintheCitylimitsisherebyestablishedtobetwenty:five(25)milesperhourunlessotherwisepostedbytheCityortheStateofWashingtonHighwayCommission,includingthefollowingdesignatedstreetsconstitutingapartoftheStateHighwaySystem:2
