This project proposes to clean and repaint the bridge, SR 900/20. Work will include
cleaning and surface preparation of the steel surfaces on bridge prior to repainting. A
containment system shall be implemented in accordance with best management practices.
Measures will be taken to contain recover debris generated during the cleaning process,

SR 900/20 BRIDGE PAINTING
TRAFFIC CONTROL PLAN
This project proposes to clean and repaint the bridge, SR 900/20. Work will include
cleaning and surface preparation of the steel surfaces on bridge prior to repainting. A
containment system shall be implemented in accordance with best management practices.
Measures will be taken to contain recover debris generated during the cleaning process,
preparation and coating operations. Drip tarps shall be installed below the paint platforms
to prevent spilled paint, and other deleterious material from reaching the environment
below the bridge.
Our design proposal for traffic control at the Cedar River Bridge 900/20 in the city of
Renton will require a 24 hour one lane and sidewalk closure for a period of no more than
5 days in the eastbound direction. Then another 5 day 24 hour one lane and sidewalk
closure for the westbound direction.
These closures shall only be allowed during the erection of the containment system for the
cleaning and painting, and removal of the containment system of that portion of the bridge
above the deck.
During these two periods the traffic over the bridge will be restricted to a single lane and
pedestrians will be routed to a detour on the opposite side of the street. Westbound
pedestrians will cross under the bridge to reach the opposite sidewalk. Eastbound
pedestrians will be detoured to the opposite side sidewalk at the Main Street South
crosswalk. Detour will continue along South 2nd Street to the library and can cross the
walkway bridge over the Cedar River in front of the library.
