(AESI) is currently working with Mr. and Mrs. Hirani to complete an improvement project on their property located at 2708 Williams Avenue N. (Lot 17) that was started almost 2 years ago. As you know, the Hirani's initial property improvement plans unintentionally extended off his property onto a portion of a parcel owned by the Clover Creek Homeowners Association. This portion of the parcel, which encompasses about 680 square feet, will be restored to a better condition than existed before it was disturbed by previous construction activities. Priorto parcel disturbance, the area was primarily bare and covered mostly with weeds. The current plan for this area, which has been reviewed by the City of Renton (City), will involve the following: • Removal of existing block walls and stairs; • Regrading of existing surface soils to match adjacent grades; • Compacting loosened surficial native soils with small portable equipment to a firm condition; • Covering the affected area with a layer of topsoil and planting Creeping Red Fescue grass seed which is native to the Pacific Northwest; and • Covering the area after seeding with an erosion control fabric such as jute netting to prevent surficial erosion from occurring during heavy rainfall until the grass seed grows. Kirkland I Tacoma I Mount Vernon 425-827-7701 1 www.aesgeo.com According to the USDA National Conservation Service, this grass type is excellent at reducing erosion and is used extensively for stabilizing waterways, slopes, banks, cuts, and fills. The area will be left to grow naturally with no maintenance required such as mowing or fertilizing. We trust that this letter sufficiently describes the planned activities. Mr. and Mrs. Hirani look forward to your review and approval of this restoration plan. Per the City of Renton, your approval and signature is required to move forward so that the Hirani's can continue with their project and start restoration. Please indicate your approval with your signature below. Please let us know if you have any questions. Sincerely, ASSOCIATED EARTH SCIENCES, INC. Kirkland, Washington Stephen A. Siebert, P.E.
