Strong Tiger Mountain Homes / Mark Seek Becker Blacktop / Joe Sunny, 70’s THE FOLLOWING WAS NOTED: Associated Earth Sciences, Inc. (AESI) arrived on site at approximately 9:30 AM to observe a building foundation subgrade. While on site, we met with Mark with Tiger Mountain Homes. Foundation Subgrade Observations (Lot 1): Upon arrival, the foundation subgrade for Lot 1 had been overexcavated and backfilled to the planned subgrade elevation. Mark Seek indicated that the Lot 1 building area had been overexcavated by approximately 2-2.5 feet and backfilled with on-site material. Backfill consisted of 6-inch-lifts with each lift compacted by a jumping jack until firm and unyielding. AESI requested that two potholes be dug within the building area to observe the underlying materials. Each pothole was dug approximately 5 feet deep and allowed for direct visual observation and observation with a ½” diameter soil probe. In each pothole, AESI observed approximately 2-2.5 feet of firm and unyielding backfill placed over firm and unyielding native soil. Density tests on the Lot 1 foundation subgrade backfill indicate compaction meets or exceeds specifications. While on site, AESI notified Mark Seek of all observations. AESI will return upon request to continue foundation subgrade observations on other lots.
