We have no issue with the exhibits. It is clear that KUMC was mailed the notice of hearing- unfortunately it was mailed to the ‘sold’ church address on Park Ave. and for some reason was not postal forwarded to the new address for the KUMC corporation which is P.O. Box 629, Renton, WA 98057. We did not receive it. The church was sold 1/29/21 and all parties were notified (Metro, utilities, Renton, etc.) though we did not maintain a mailing affidavit. It would have been useful for KUMC to have joined in the September 21st BOL hearing as the transcript indicated some erroneous information, some speculation, and some items that could have easily been clarified by KUMC. We will be bringing more detail in due course. First a point of order. On page 7 of the Transcript, there was discussion of the need for a CUP because of ‘abandonment’ of our church for over a year with conjecture that it might have been a year and a half to CAUTION: This email originated from outside the City of Renton. Do not click links, reply or open attachments unless you know the content is safe. 2 two years. That is absolutely incorrect. Our church sold on 1/29/21 with operations right up until a couple weeks prior. In addition we were leasing space and limited use for a number of years to three other small church groups and they operated until November/December. Their leases were terminated at that point and they removed their possessions since the sale was imminent. So there was no such abandonment. Please review Renton code sections 4-10-040 and 4-10-060. There is no change of use, no facility change, and at this writing we are 4 months short of a year since sale- and several more months shorter since BOL applied for a CUP- which apparently was never needed.
