HomeMy WebLinkAboutRE Elliott Farms Drainage - BCE #21397Good morning Mark, I’m attaching Tom Main to this email exchange. Regarding the change of structures from the Type II to Type 1L, I’m ok with the change so long as the pipe angles can be maintained within the structure knockouts. From the looks of it, the angles should be ok. This can be a field change and should just be noted on the as-builts. Regarding the additional culvert, please have the culvert tv’d and perform a field inspection of the opposite side of SR169 to determine if there is an outfall at the other end to determine if the line was active at some point and was accidentally covered or years of sediment accumulation covered it. Depending on the results, the design may have to be revised to accommodate the additional culvert and conveyance capacity. I’ve also reached out to our storm drainage department to see if they have any additional insight into these culverts. They were likely installed a long time ago when the area was within KC jurisdiction and not transferred into our records upon annexation. Thank you, MICHAEL S. Hi Mike, The contractor un-covered a second 24” CMP pipe that is right next to the pipe we are connecting our bypass system to that flows north through SR-169. It doesn’t look like its being used but am wondering if the city has any records of this pipe? It wasn’t picked up by our surveyors. See pictures below. Also, CB#D3 needs to switch from a Type 2-48” to a Type 1L. The contractor is having trouble with the heights of the knockouts and doesn’t want to cut into the flat top of the Type 2. Do you have any concerns for this? See attached. I clouded the change in green.
