The following briefly describes the application and the necessary Public Approvals. DATE OF NOTICE OF APPLICATION: October 7, 2021 PROJECT NAME/NUMBER: PR20-000190 T-Hangar Demolition / LUA21-000362, ECF, SME, SA-A PROJECT LOCATION: 616 E Perimeter Rd (APN 0723059007) APPLICANT/PROJECT CONTACT PERSON: David Freeman, SFA Architects / 7195 Wagner Way, Ste 201, Gig Harbor, WA 98335 /davesfa@comcast.net LOCATION WHERE APPLICATION MAY BE REVIEWED: Applicant documents are available online through the City of Renton Document Center website. See also https://cutt.ly/eEBmYSD PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The applicant is requesting Environmental (SEPA) Review and a Shoreline Exemption to demolish three existing hangars on the southern portion of the Renton Municipal Airport property. The subject site is located at 287 E Perimeter Road (APN 0723059007), tot als 167 acres in area, and is located within the Industrial, Medium (IM) zone. The hangars proposed for demolition are approximately 5,566, 6,486, and 8,188 sq. ft. in size. No parking would be removed as part of the proposal. In addition, no vegetation or trees would be removed as part of the proposal according to the applicant. Access to the site would remain off of E Perimeter Road. According to COR Maps, the site is located within a High Seismic Hazard Area as well as the Cedar River (Shoreline of the State) Reach A High-Intensity Shoreline Overlay district. A Flood Hazard Area, specifically a Special Flood Zone AE, pursuant to the FEMA Flood Insurance Rate Maps (FIRM) is located on the subject site, but is not near the area of the proposed demolition. No vegetation or trees are proposed for removal. The applicant submitted an Environmental Checklist with the application. DATE OF APPLICATION: October 6, 2021 NOTICE OF COMPLETE APPLICATION: October 7, 2021 OPTIONAL DETERMINATION OF NON-SIGNIFICANCE (DNS): As the Lead Agency, the City of Renton has determined that significant environmental impacts are unlikely to result from the proposed project. Therefore, as permitted under the RCW 43.21C.110, the City of Renton is using the Optional DNS process to give notice that a DNS is likely to be issued. Comment periods for the project and the proposed DNS are integrated into a single comment period. There will be no comment period following the issuance of the Threshold Determination of Non-Significance (DNS). This may be the only opportunity to comment on the environmental impacts of the proposal. When the DNS becomes appealable, the appeal period will be 14 days.
