Enclosed is a copy of the land-use permit master application needed to obtain a
temporary use permit with the City of Renton for Cirque du Soleil - Dralion. We still
need a few things to be filled out and signed. They have been highlighted. A check for
$102.38 will also need to be sent to us made out to the City of Renton. This includes the
Temporary Use Permit fee and postage costs for mailing required notice to surrounding
property owners.
Also included are draft copies of a project narrative and construction mitigation
description. I have left some blanks for you to fill in, as we do not have all this
information. Please make necessary changes as I have used your last application for the
draft.
We will also need a site plan to be drawn up, attached is a miniature copy of the old site
plan.
Architectural Elevations will need to be submitted as well. I have attached a copy of the
requirements for a temporary use permit,which provides directions for the needed
elements of the permit. Those circled are the items still needed.

Dates and Proposed Hours
A total of 75 performances are scheduled to begin July 315t and conclude September 22nd, 2002.
Phases of Occupancy:
1. Site preparation for the performances is scheduled to begin July 1st, 2002 and
conclude July 13th2002. Construction hours from 6 am to 6 pm.
2. Marking(nailing of 1200 stakes to anchor tents) from July 14 to 18, 2002.
Construction hours from 8 am to 6 pm.
3. Erection of tents and grandstands from July 24th to the 31st, 2002.
Construction ours from 8 am to 6 pm.
4. Performances from July 31st to September 22nd, 2002. Proposed hours for
performances are from 1:00 pm to 11:30 pm, with a maximum of two performances
daily, typically 6 days a week, Tuesday to Sunday. (See show schedule)
5. Teardown from September 22"d to 24th, 2002.
Construction hours on Sept 22 from 6 pm till 2 am.
Construction hours on Sep 23 and 24 from 8 am to 6 pm.
6. Site restoration from September 24 till October 4, 2002.
Construction hours from 8 am to 6 pm
All trailers will arrive via I-405, Exit #5, Park Avenue, 8th Street North.
We will try to stay away from peak traffic hours. This facilitates our work and diminishes the
stress on already existing traffic.
We will work closely with the transporter to avoid any traffic jams. For the event itself, we will
hire Trailer Transit.

Cirque du Soleil - Dralion
The name of our project is"Dralion" by Cirque du Soleil (CDS). CDS is a 17 year-old theatrical
circus company that was started in Quebec, Canada.
Type of Event
Cirque du Soleil, a world-renowned acrobatic performing arts company that proposes to present
Its latest production "Dralion" under a Big Top (theatrical tent). The applicant also operates 2
food-beverage-merchandizing tents, 2 food and beverage kiosks and 1 VIP tent.
Location
The site is located at the NE corner of Garden Avenue and North 8th Street. The address of the
proposed site is 900 Garden Avenue North, Renton, WA 98055. The site is located on the North
portion of the former Boeing parking Lot #6. The portion of the parking lot used by CDS
measures approximately 400 000 square feet.
Zoning
The zoning designation is IH (Heavy Industrial)
Utilities
Electrical: The applicant is self-sufficient, uses Generators.
Water: Temporary water hook up to fire hydrant.
Sewer: Temporary sewer hook up to existing sanitary sewer line.
Attendance
2551 Patrons per show (seating capacity).The applicant anticipates approximately 2550 patrons
per performance, with a maximum of 2 performances per day.
Parking
The applicant anticipates approximately 650 cars per show. The applicant will operate temporary
parking on the 10 acre lot he occupies.
Employees
Approximately 150 employees are touring with the show. Additional local personnel,
approximately 170, will be hired to assist in the applicant's daily operations.
SECURITY
NO ONE LIVES ON SITE, BUT THERE IS SECURITY 24 HOURSA DAY, 7 DAYS A WEEK.
THREE GUARDS PROVIDE PERIMETER SECURITY AND MANAGE DELIVERIES.
5 GUARDS ARE ADDED DURING THE PERFORMANCES FOR CROWD CONTROL.
COST OF CONSTRUCTION
THE COST OF CONSTRUCTION FOR THE ERECTION OF THE TENTS AND GRANDSTANDS IS
ESTIMATED AT$40,000.00. THIS INCLUDE THE CITY SERVICES CONNECTION (WATER AND
SEWER).
