Attending: Laura Clawson, Daryl Delaurenti, Maryann DiPasquale, Amy Elizabeth Gorton,
Jessica Kelly, Lynne King, Colleen Lenahansen, Staci VanderPol, and Elizabeth Stewart.
Absent: Amy Elizabeth Gorton, Rhea Kimble, and Mike Lennox.
Guest Speaker: Shane Klingenstein, Edward Jones Representative
Call to Order and Guest Speaker Information
President Jessica Kelly called the Zoom meeting to order at 5:40 PM.
Shane provided an update on the Renton Historical Society’s portfolio.
News, Updates, Correspondence Information
Museum Director Liz Stewart reported on museum operations. Liz provided an update on the
extended Phase 2.5 reopening plan. She also announced the Museum will be receiving a $2500
grant from King County Councilmember Reagan Dunn.
Review and approval of minutes Action Item
Minutes for August and September 2021 were approved.
Work session Action Items
(1) Committee Reports (Vice President): Executive Committee has an upcoming meting
to discuss the budget. The Board Development Commit tee will be hosting a training
session for the newest member using the new training. The Outreach Committee will
have a draft email to go out once the new platform is up and running. The Events
and Fundraising Committee is having the appeal letter reviewed. No update from the
Ad Hoc HR Committee. The Ad Hoc Collections Committee discussed the idea of a
climate controlled rental space as an alternative option. The Collections Committee
will determine the acceptability of available rental space options and present to the
Board when available.
(2) Treasurer’s Report (Treasurer): Daryl discussed the high points of the financial
report with the Board. Discussion ensued.
(3) Taxes (Form 990) Review and Approval (Treasurer): 990 is due November 15. Daryl
and Kelly are working with the CPA to get it completed because it is needed for a
grant the Liz will be applying for.
(4) Directors & Officers Insurance update (Liz Stewart): The current company that holds
our D&O Policy no longer will offer that policy. Liz filed an application with Western
World and there are a few policy limits to choose from. The Executive Committee
will discuss at their upcoming meeting.

(5) Discussion on Renton Historical Society’s Museum staffing (President): Stephanie
will be employed by the City of Renton as November 1. Discussion ensued regarding
the hiring of a Public Engagement Coordinator
Mission Moment & Nonprofit Moment Information
Mission Moment was postponed due to time.
The Nonprofit Moment included discussion around foundational documents required by a
nonprofit board.
