I have discussed this matter with representatives of the City Engineering Department, and they express no objection to the vacation provided the City was permitted to continue the maintenance of its present water main, and you will note that this right is expressly reserved in the petition. I would appreciate your submitting this petition to the City Council. If you or any of the City officials deem it advisable, I will be glad to appear at the meeting at which this petition will be considered, if you will give me notice of the time and place of the meeting.
