Our services do not include supervision or direction of the contractor, their employees, or agents. Geotechnical recommendations for obtaining project objectives may be made by our representatives; however, direction of the actual work should come from the owner or contractor, as appropriate. The contractor is responsible for complying with the contract documents at all times, regardless of the presence of our field representative. Jobsite safety, including compliance with all applicable state or federal regulations, is the sole responsibility of the contractor. The observations, recommendations, and conclusions provided in this field report are preliminary until reviewed by the ESNW project manager. Per client request, ESNW rep arrived onsite at the Weatherly Inn development to observe and document wall subgrade excavation and slope conditions. While onsite the following was observed: Wall Excavation Slope Stability Observations: At this time, the slopes of the excavation were observed to consist of near vertical slope faces of approximately 14’ in height at the greatest extent within the eastern areas of the excavation, falling in height and gradually changing to approximate 4-7’ near vertical faces with an approximate 1H:1V slope above the vertical portion where space allows. The contractor was observed to have paced anchored plastic sheeting along all onsite wall excavation cut slopes as well as along the wall subgrade. ESNW rep was informed by the onsite superintendent that the contractor would return onsite tomorrow (3/2) to remove the localized sloughed material and repair the associated sloughed plastic sheeting section. Concrete footing work is expected to resume on Thurs (3/3). The remainder of the slopes of the excavation were observed to be stable and unchanging in its current temporary configuration, however it is the responsibility of the contractor to perform all necessary safety measures in accordance with state and federal regulations. It is recommended that the contractor inform ESNW if any changes in the slope conditions occur. Please refer to the attached plan detail and photo documentation provided below. ESNW rep will return per request of the client. Report ID 0895.06 E 03012022 Page 2 of 2 Earth Solutions NW, LLC Figure 1: Plane detail of the Weatherly Inn development.
