TRANSFERRED BETWEEN EXCAVATIONS AS NEEDED.
9. CONSTRUCT STORMWATER OUTFALLS TO ALLOW FOR DISCHARGE FROM STORM

SHOULD BE CONSTRUCTED FIRST DUE TO LENGTH OF OUTFALL AND
PROXIMITY TO SITE.
10. MAINTAIN EROSION CONTROL MEASURES IN ACCORDANCE WITH CITY OF
RENTON EROSION AND SEDIMENT CONTROL STANDARDS.
11. RELOCATE SURFACE WATER CONTROLS AND EROSION CONTROL MEASURES OR
INSTALL NEW MEASURES SO THAT AS SITE CONDITIONS CHANGE SO THAT
THE EROSION AND SEDIMENT CONTROL IS ALWAYS IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE
CITY OF RENTON EROSION AND SEDIMENT CONTROL STANDARDS.

GEOTECHNICAL RECOMMENDATIONS:
SUBGRADE PREPARATION
FOLLOWING SITE STRIPPING AND REMOVAL OF THE EXISTING STRUCTURAL IMPROVEMENTS, CUTS AND
FILLS WILL BE COMPLETED TO ESTABLISH THE PROPOSED SUBGRADE LEVELS THROUGHOUT THE SITE.
ESNW SHOULD OBSERVE THE SUBGRADE DURING THE INITIAL SITE PREPARATION ACTIVITIES TO CONFIRM
SOIL CONDITIONS AND TO PROVIDE SUPPLEMENTAL RECOMMENDATIONS FOR SUBGRADE PREPARATION.
I iN ni rrrl.t ►►uys•I»
TEMPORARY SLOPES OVER FOUR FEET IN HEIGHT IN TYPE C SOILS SHOULD BE SLOPED NO STEEPER
THAN 1.5H: 1V (HORIZONTAL: VERTICAL). DENSE NATIVE SOIL AND WHERE GROUNDWATER IS NOT EXPOSED
WOULD BE CLASSIFIED BY OSHA/WISHA AS TYPE A. TEMPORARY SLOPES OVER FOUR FEET IN HEIGHT IN
TYPE A SOILS SHOULD BE SLOPED NO STEEPER THAN 0.75H:1 V (HORIZONTAL: VERTICAL)
ESNW SHOULD OBSERVE THE EXCAVATIONS TO CONFIRM TEMPORARY SLOPE INCLINATIONS ARE AA
RECOMMENDED FOR THE EXPOSED SOIL TYPE. IF TEMPORARY SLOPES CANNOT BE CONSTRUCTED IN
ACCORDANCE WITH OSHA/WISHA GUIDELINES, TEMPORARY SHORING MAY BE NECESSARY. PERMANENT
SLOPES SHOULD MAINTAIN A GRADIENT OF 2H:1V, OR FLATTER, AND SHOULD BE PLANTED WITH AN
APPROPRIATE SPECIES OF VEGETATION TO ENHANCE STABILITY AND MINIMIZE EROSION. THIS CONDITION
APPLIES TO CONSTRUCTION OF THE DETENTION VAULT, WHICH IS LOCATED NEAR A PROPERTY LINE.
DRAINAGE
MINOR GROUNDWATER SEEPAGE SHOULD BE EXPECTED IN SITE EXCAVATIONS, ESPECIALLY AT THE
CONTACT BETWEEN THE WEATHERED AND UNWEATHERED TILL SOILS. TEMPORARY MEASURES TO CONTROL
SURFACE WATER RUNOFF AND GROUNDWATER DURING CONSTRUCTION WOULD LIKELY INVOLVE PASSIVE
ELEMENTS SUCH AS INTERCEPTOR TRENCHES AND SUMPS.
I ►►ir ►ra.ryxrrrl►
THE PERFORMANCE OF SITE PAVEMENTS IS LARGELY RELATED TO THE CONDITION OF THE UNDERLYING
SUBGRADE. TO PROVIDE ADEQUATE PAVEMENT PERFORMANCE, THE SUBGRADE SHOULD BE IN A FIRM
AND UNYIELDING CONDITION WHEN SUBJECTED TO PROOFROLLING WITH A LOADED DUMP TRUCK.
IT IS POSSIBLE THAT SOFT, WET, OR OTHERWISE UNSUITABLE SUBGRADE AREAS MAY STILL EXIST AFTER
BASE GRADING ACTIVITIES. AREAS OF UNSUITABLE OR YIELDING SUBGRADE CONDITIONS WILL REQUIRE
REMEDIAL MEASURES SUCH AS OVEREXCAVATION, CEMENT TREATMENTS, PLACEMENT OF A GEOTEXTILE
AND THICKER CRUSHED ROCK OR STRUCTURAL FILL SECTIONS PRIOR TO PAVEMENT.
►jr►rrCIllilir►►UiI:7►1.1:1'l [.1:1y1i1
EXCESSIVELY LOOSE, ORGANIC, OR OTHERWISE UNSUITABLE SOILS ENCOUNTERED IN THE TRENCH
EXCAVATIONS SHOULD NOT BE USED FOR SUPPORTING UTILITIES. IN GENERAL, THE ON -SITE SOILS
OBSERVED AT THE TEST SITES SHOULD BE SUITABLE FOR USE AS STRUCTURAL BACKFILL IN THE UTILITY
TRENCH EXCAVATION, PROVIDED THE SOIL IS AT OR NEAR THE OPTIMUM MOISTURE CONTENT AT THE
TIME OF PLACEMENT AND COMPACTION. MOISTURE CONDITIONING OF THE SOIL MAY BE NECESSARY AT
SOME LOCATIONS PRIOR TO USE AS STRUCTURAL FILL. UTILITY TRENCH BACKFILL SHOULD BE PLACED
AND COMPACTED TO THE SPECIFICATION OF STRUCTURAL FILL PROVIDED IN THIS REPORT, OR TO THE C
APPLICABLE SPECIFICATION OF THE CITY OF RENTON. R- 4 1 1 5 0 4
