Neighborhood Program 2017 Successes to Date
•Welcomed five (5) new neighborhoods to the Neighborhood Program
•Claremont HOA (East Plateau), Barbee Mill HOA (Kennydale), Steeple Hill Chase
Condo Association (Benson), Evendell HOA (City Center), Langley Ridge Estates HOA
(Highlands)
•We now have 85 officially recognized neighborhoods
•Hosted 2017 Neighborhood Grant Workshop to review grant policies and
procedures.
•Held 15 one-on-one meetings with neighborhoods to discuss potential
grant projects and benefits of enrolling in the Neighborhood Program.
•Launched Neighborhood Program NextDoor social media account:
Averaging one (1) post a week, reaching over 7,000 households.
•Gathered 117 responses from the Neighborhood Program Survey.

Neighborhood Celebrations
•City Sponsored neighborhood celebrations in a minimum of two (2) community
planning areas per year
•New neighborhoods will also receive a city-sponsored neighborhood event
when they join the program (i.e. Neighborhood Program hosting an Easter
egg Hunt for Claremont Neighborhood in April 2017)
•Celebrations are not exclusive to one neighborhood organization.
•City will invite all neighborhood organizations within the surrounding Community
Planning Area to take part in the Neighborhood Celebration
•City will provide staff, entertainment, activities, food, etc.
•Neighborhoods will assist in the planning and promotion of the event
•Celebrations will rotate each year to provide opportunity to all of Renton’s
