4. STRUCTURAL FILL SHALL BE PLACED IN UNIFORM LAYERS NOT EXCEEDING 12 INCHES IN
THICKNESS AND COMPACTED TO A MINIMUM OF 95% OF THE SOIL MAXIMUM DRY DENSITY
ACCORDING TO ASTM D-695 (MODIFIED PROCTOR). THE PROJECT GEOTECHNICAL ENGINEER
SHALL INSPECT AND APPROVE THE PREPARED SUBGRADE PRIOR TO FILL PLACEMENT.
5. ON —SITE SOILS MAY BE USED FOR STRUCTURAL FILL ONLY IF VISUALLY INSPECTED AND
APPROVED BY THE PROJECT GEOTECHNICAL ENGINEER. ON —SITE SOILS SHALL BE FREE OF
ORGANIC MATERIAL AND COMPACTED PER THE REQUIREMENTS OF NOTE 3 ABOVE.
