Subject:Stop animal cruelty and predatory sales practices!
Dear Mayor Pavone and the Renton City Council,
It has come to my attention that despite recent legislation that prohibits future businesses from selling puppies, the City of
Renton is still allowing existing businesses to sell puppies. These puppies are being sold for up to $8,000 and buyers are
being locked into loans with up to 200% interest. Without a doubt, these puppies are being shipped in from Midwestern
"factory-farm" puppy mills where dogs are exploited over and over to provide this endless supply. Then they are sold to
buyers who are paying up to a shocking price-gouging $8,000 and are also falling prey to predatory lending.
Please do what you can to stop these morally wrong and ethically irresponsible/borderline illegal businesses from
continuing to operate in Renton, WA.
