Please accept my apology for being unable to contribute to tonight’s meeting.
I volunteer for four dogs rescues in the area and had rescue obligations . And that right there is why this Issue is so
important to me and to others that give of their time and money to rescue dogs that need good homes, while the
Puppyland franchise makes money by supporting people who use dogs to breed more dogs with many of those dogs
ending up being surrendered or used by unethical people as backyard breeders.
Attempting to regulate these businesses, has failed year after year. The USDA authorized JAKS to regulated breeders
and we now know what a horrible job they have done , accepting money to look the other way and supplying Puppyland
with product direct from PuppyMills that use and abuse dogs for profit.
The only way to help the only humane action to be taken here is to make it illegal to sell animals in stores. Please pass a
humane ordinance , as many other cities and states have already done, that does not allow stores to sell dogs, cats or
rabbits.
Please, The animals cannot help themselves, we must stand strong for them.
