Hello everyone,
We are a registered Washington non profit in Washington State, King County.
We are writing in support of a humane ordinance, with regard to the Renton Business, Puppyland.
We urge you to take action to limit and stop them from continuing to sell puppymill puppies, additionally practicing
predatory lending with the consumer who purchases a puppy on a contract.
Recently, (a few weeks ago) a local well known and respected rescue was asked for help by the buyer of a young
German Shepherd. They purchased (financed) her for ($5,000.00), from Puppyland. This sweet dogs name was Nala and
after extreme financial expense with several specialists Nala was determined to be beyond what medical care could
help, she was humanely euthanized. Nala was only 9 months old and was ill and in pain most of her young life. This is
not the only example sadly of ill puppies, devastated families, shelters and rescues who have taken in dogs once sold by
puppyland.
Please, we beg you to put an end to this type of business located just minutes from us. Nala suffered greatly, her family
suffered and those that did everything they could suffered.
